We aimed to present two cases of cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) and a literature review to discuss their management.

We reported two cases of cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) treated in Strasbourg's University Hospital between 2016 and 2018 and carried out an updated literature review concerning their treatment.

The first case is a superficial implantation CSP managed by methotrexate (MTX) then ligation of the uterine arteries and echo-guided aspiration. Clinical presentation is most of the time dominated by vaginal bleeding. Only few cases of uterine rupture during GTD have been reported in literature. We present the case of a female patient admitted to the hospital for hemorrhagic shock secondary to a uterine rupture due to an undiagnosed GTD. After an emergency laparoscopy, the patient underwent total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy and bilateral ovarian cystectomy. Geographic atrophy (GA) corresponds to an end-stage form of age-related macular degeneration and the leading cause of irreversible vision loss. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of fundus autofluorescence (FAF) patterns surrounding GA, baseline GA size, the presence of reticular pseudodrusen (RPD), the condition of the fellow eye and the presence of systemic vascular diseases (diabetes, atherosclerosis, systemic hypertension) on the progression of GA due to age-related macular degeneration.

Seventy-five eyes of 52 patients with GA were included into this retrospective study. Digital FAF images were achieved using scanning laser ophthalmoscopy. Areas of GA were measured with the Region Finder software program on an Heidelberg Retinal Angiograph 2. FAF patterns around GA were classified and the presence of RPD and systemic diseases were noted. The median follow-up of the patients was 2.6 years (interquartile range, 1-9.2).

It is hypothesized that scaling and root planning (SRP) with adjunct photodynamic therapy (PDT) is more effective in reducing Campylobacter rectus (C. rectus) from the oral biofilm (OB) among patients with periodontitis, than SRP alone. The objective was to compare the effectiveness of SRP with and without adjunct PDT in reducing OB C. rectus counts of patients with periodontitis.

Chronic gastritis patients diagnosed with periodontitis were included. Therapeutically, the patients were divided into 2-groups. Patients in the test- and control-groups underwent SRP with and without adjunct PDT, respectively. In both groups, full-mouth plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing (BOP), probing depth (PD) and marginal bone loss (MBL) were measured and subgingival OB counts of C. rectus were measured at baseline and 12-weeks after treatment. Data normality was assessed and group-comparisons were done using the paired t-test and Man-Whitney U tests. A type-1 error rate of 5 % was used.

We investigated the clinical efficacy of this therapy for cervical low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion with high-risk HPV infection.

A retrospective study consisting of 258 female patients aged 21-69 years with a histologically confirmed cervical low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion with high-risk HPV infection was carried out. Subjects were treated with three sessions of 20 % 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy at intervals of 7-14 days. Three months after treatment, the effect was evaluated through HPV typing, Thinprep cytology and colposcopy directed biopsy.
