METHODS Following the broadcast of a documentary on national television featuring interviews with young people who had experienced mental health difficulties and suicidal behaviour, an anonymous online survey, aimed at examining public perceptions of the impact of a television documentary, was conducted, using a mixed methods approach. RESULTS 2311 people completed the survey. Of those who watched the documentary and answered the closed questions (n = 854), 94% stated that the documentary will positively impact young people's mental health and well-being. The majority (91%) stated that the documentary will encourage young people to talk to someone if experiencing difficulties and 87% indicated it will help to reduce stigma associated with mental health. Viewers had a 5% higher level of intention to seek help than non-viewers. Participants indicated that the identifiable personal stories and discourse around stigma and shame, and the increased understanding and awareness gained, had the most profound impact on them. CONCLUSIONS These findings indicate that a documentary addressing mental health and suicidal behaviour, which incorporates real life identifiable stories of resilience and recovery, has the potential to impact positively on emotional well-being and general mood, to reduce stigma related to mental health and to encourage help-seeking behaviour. Documentaries including these concepts, with a public mental health focus and a consistent message, incorporating pre- and post-evaluations, and customisation for target audiences in compliance with current media recommendations, should be considered.Major obstetrics and gynecology societies offer inconsistent recommendation regarding optimal delivery timing in uncomplicated dizygotic twins. We sought to investigate the impact of delivery timing within term gestation, in dizygotic twins, on the short- and long-term offspring morbidity. A prospectively analyzed cohort of dizygotic twin deliveries was conducted. All women delivered at a regional tertiary medical center, at term (≥37 0/7), between the years 1991 and 2014, were included. The primary exposure was delivery at 37 0/7-37 + 6/7 weeks, while delivery at ≥38 0/7 weeks' gestation was considered the reference. Neonatal short- and long-term outcomes according to hospitalizations of offspring up to 18 years of age due to cardiac, respiratory, hematological, neurological, and infectious morbidity were compared. click here Kaplan-Meier survival curves were used to compare cumulative incidences per each major-system hospitalization. Cox regression models were used to estimate the adjusted hazard ratios, while adjusting for variables with clinical importance. Dizygotic twin deliveries occurring at different gestational ages within term do not appear to significantly impact on major short- and long-term outcomes.OBJECTIVE The functional assessment of cancer therapy-bone marrow transplant (FACT-BMT) is a widely used instrument to assess quality of life (QOL) in hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) patients, but there is little evidence of its validity in Latin American populations. This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the Spanish language version of the FACT-BMT in Mexican patients. METHOD First, the original version was piloted with 15 HSCT patients to obtain an adequate cultural version, resulting in the adaptation of one item. After that, the new version was completed by 139 HSCT patients. RESULTS The results showed a FACT factor structure that explains 70.84% of the total variance, a factor structure similar to the original FACT structure, and with a high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.867). For the BMT subscale, the best factor structure included 17 items which explain 61.65% of the total variance with an adequate internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.696). SIGNIFICANCE OF THE RESULTS The FACT-BMT was found to be a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate QOL in Mexican patients. Hsp70 is up-regulated in adult S. mansoni with decreased sensitivity to PZQ. This could be due to the induction of oxidative and endoplasmic reticulum stress, induction of apoptosis, exposure to the stressful drug pressure and increase influx of calcium ions.
