Based on Bland-Altman analysis, the limits of agreement were - 9.2HU and 13.2HU, whereas the proportional differences were small for VNC images generated from both TUE and TCE images. There was no discordance between two VNC image sets in detecting thyroid calcification.

VNC technique could be a feasible method to suppress both intrinsic and extrinsically administered iodine for detecting thyroid calcification.The present study was conducted to assess the impacts of loose house roofing designs and materials on modulation of micro-climate of the cow shed and its influences on production and reproduction performance of lactating crossbred Jersey cows. The control group (T0) was kept in a traditional single-slope asbestos roof shed and treatment group (T1) at a specially designed open-ridge ventilated, double-slope thatch roof shed. Lactation stage, average daily milk yield, and average parity at the beginning of the experiment were kept similar between T0 and T1 cows. The specifically designed T1 shed had significantly (P  0.05) between the two groups; however, more loss occurred in T0 than T1. The estimated net profit from housing of cows (N = 20) in a comfortable shed was 2200 kg milk per annum, i.e., 110 kg/cow/annum. The study concluded that a central open-ridge ventilated, double-slope thatched roof design created a favorable micro-environment and it significantly affected cows' comfort index; thermo-comfortable housing significantly reduced the heat stress-oriented drop in milk yield and decline in milk composition, and improved udder health and other milk production traits; however, its impact was non-significant on reproduction and fertility traits in Jersey crossbred cows.
This review summarizes the current state of evidence for palliative care (PC) in movement disorders, describes the application of PC to clinical practice, and suggests future research directions.

PC needs are common in persons living with movement disorders and their families from the time of diagnosis through end-of-life and contribute to quality of life. Early advance care planning is preferred by patients, impacts outcomes and is promoted by PC frameworks. Systematic assessment of non-motor symptoms, psychosocial needs and spiritual/existential distress may address gaps in current models of care. Several complementary and emerging models of PC may be utilized to meet the needs of this population. A PC approach may identify and improve important patient and caregiver-centered outcomes. As a relatively new application of PC, there is a need for research to adapt, develop and implement approaches to meet the unique needs of this population.

The present study assessed if individuals ≥ 60years of age with periodontitis are more likely to develop stroke or ischemic heart diseases, or at a higher risk of death for 17years.

At baseline individuals ≥ 60 received a dental examination including a panoramic radiograph. Periodontitis was defined as having ≥ 30% sites with ≥ 5-mm distance from the cementoenamel junction to the marginal bone level. Medical records were annually reviewed from 2001 to 2018. Findings from the medical records identifying an ICD-10 code of stroke and ischemic heart diseases or death were registered.

Associations between periodontitis and incidence of ischemic heart disease were found in this 17-year follow-up study in all individuals 60-93years (HR 1.5, CI 1.1-2.1, p = 0.017), in women (HR 2.1, CI 1.3-3.4, p = 0.002), and in individuals 78-96years (HR 1.7, CI 1.0-2.6, p = 0.033). Periodontitis was associated with mortality in all individuals (HR 1.4, CI 1.2-1.8, p = 0.002), specifically in men (HR 1.5, CI 1.1-1.9, p = 0.006) or in ages 60-72years (HR 2.2, CI 1.5-3.2, p = 0.000). Periodontitis was more prevalent among men (OR 1.8, CI 1.3-2.4, p = 0.000).

Individuals with periodontitis have an increased risk for future events of ischemic heart diseases and death.

Improving periodontal health in older individuals may reduce overall mortality and ischemic heart diseases. Both dental and medical professionals should be aware of the associations and ultimately cooperate.

The aim of this study was, firstly, to analyse the long-time fatigue behaviour of crowns constructed from a novel polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) polymer, using artificial prepared teeth. Secondly, to determine the effect of the material's stiffness that used as an artificial prepared tooth on the fatigue life of the PEKK crowns in comparison to human prepared teeth.

Veneered crowns with a PEKK framework were constructed on three different prepared teeth artificial polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) teeth, artificial CoCr teeth and extracted human teeth. As far as applicable, the loading protocol was based on EN ISO 148012007 for fatigue testing of dental implants. After initial static fracture tests on three specimens from each group, the remaining crowns were loaded with different force levels until fracture or until 2 × 10
loading cycles were reached. The number of loading cycles until failure was recorded. Wöhler curves were created to display the fatigue limits.

Static fracture limits as well as fatigue limits differed for all three core materials.
