To provide nurse-led interprofessional practices in a healthcare setting, carrying out effective research that identifies the trends and characteristics of interprofessional education is necessary. This study aimed to objectively ascertain trends in the field through text network analysis of different types of interprofessional education literature. Titles and thesis abstracts were examined for terms "interprofessional education" and "nursing" and were found in 3926 articles from 1970 to August 2018. Python and Gephi software were used to analyze the data and visualize the networks. Keyword ranking was based on the frequency, degree centrality, and betweenness centrality. The terms "interprofessional," "education," "student," "nursing," and "health" were ranked the highest. According to topic analysis, the methods, provided programs, and outcome measures differed according to the research field. These findings can help create nurse-led research and effective future directions for interprofessional education pathways and topic selection. This will emphasize the importance of expanding research on various education programs and accumulating evidence regarding the professional and interdisciplinary impact these programs have on undergraduate and graduate students.Medication adherence is poor in persons with chronic disease, especially in those with multiple chronic diseases, one of which is a psychological disorder. Social support, medication education, and external reminders have been identified as facilitators of adherence. Mobile health applications have the potential to enhance adherence; however, it is unknown if publicly available applications are user-friendly and useful. We aimed to examine the usability and feasibility of the "MediSafe" medication reminder application in adults with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome undergoing short-term antibiotic therapy and a "Medfriend" from their social support network (N = 14). Ease of use, ease of learning, and satisfaction scales were rated highest by both patient participants and Medfriends, whereas usefulness was rated lowest by both groups, with Medfriends' usefulness rating significantly lower than that of patient participants. Telephone interviews identified patient participants found the application instrumental in facilitating medication adherence, and Medfriends viewed themselves as active participants in the patient participants' care. The MediSafe is instrumental in facilitating short-term antibiotic adherence and social support engagement.We aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a smart device-based test to assess Korean undergraduate students' clinical nursing competency, named SBT-NURS. The 65-item SBT-NURS comprises questions that simulate clinical situations, are problem solving-oriented, use multimedia (ie, videos/photos/animations), and involve the following topics medical-surgical nursing, fundamentals of nursing, pediatrics, maternity, management, and psychiatric. We utilized a quantitative method to analyze the effects of the SBT-NURS (ie, via a single-group, post-experimental survey design) and a qualitative method to analyze students' experiences of using the SBT-NURS (ie, via seven focus group interviews [FGIs]). Students' overall adult health nursing paper-based test scores (ie, combining their scores in group activity, presentation, attendance, and attitude toward the midterm and final tests on adult health nursing) (r = 0.552, P less then .001) and clinical practicum scores (r = 0.268, P = .040) in the last semester showed a statistically significant positive correlation with their SBT-NURS scores. Their paper-based testing practice average scores (ie, combination between paper-based tests and clinical practicum scores) showed a similar significant correlation (r = 0.506, P less then .001). Students deemed the SBT-NURS advantageous, satisfactory, convenient, and useful. The SBT-NURS may be an effective learning and evaluation method for nursing education that help improve students' clinical competency and learning outcomes.The transition from traditional handover methods to electronic handover is extremely stressful to nurses. This psychometric evaluation study tested the validity and reliability of the perception and adaptation readiness of electronic handover system scales for hospital nurses. A total of 253 Taiwanese nurses from a medical center participated in this study from January to March 2018. The perception and adaptation readiness of electronic handover system scales were self-developed, and content validity was tested via content validity index of the scale. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were utilized to test construct validity, while reliability was tested by Cronbach's α coefficient. Four factors explained 50.77% of the total variance in the perception of electronic handover system scale. Three factors accounted for 53.43% of the total variance in the adaptation readiness of electronic handover system scale. The confirmatory factor analysis results indicated a three-factor construct for both scales. Cronbach's α coefficients were 0.83 and 0.91 for the perception and adaptation readiness of the electronic handover system scale, respectively. The scales could be used to assess nurses' perceptions and adaptation readiness of electronic handover, while the assessing result serves as a reference for implementing educational and supportive interventions to facilitate adaptation in nurses.Engagement is an integral pedagogical component underpinning effective educational activities and is of importance for educators using online platforms. Carefully designed, technology-enabled learning resources can increase student engagement. We developed an open educational resource etextbook on vital sign measurement using an interactive and multimodal platform to facilitate student learning. The etextbook design was informed by experiential teaching-learning theory. Students progressed through the etextbook at their own pace, following pedagogy informed by the iterative process of read, observe, practice, and test, commonly used in nursing education. The etextbook was introduced as a required reading in a first-year health assessment course at one university and two colleges. In this project, we explored the level of engagement experienced by users of the etextbook. We conducted a descriptive study using the User Engagement Scale to measure students' degree of engagement using the etextbook. Results from participants (N = 455) who used the etextbook in the study indicated a high level of engagement.
