Challenging behaviours are common following moderate to severe acquired brain injury (ABI). These behaviours cause relationship and community participation difficulties and are a significant source of stress for many individuals with ABI and their close others (COs). A Positive Behaviour Support intervention, PBS + PLUS, was implemented to assist individuals with ABI to collaboratively build meaningful lives and self-regulate their behaviour. This study explored the perspectives of individuals with ABI and COs (family members, friends, and carers) who had completed an individualized 12-month PBS + PLUS intervention. Fifty-two individuals participated in semi-structured interviews, and a thematic analysis of interview transcripts identified the interrelated themes of Openness to Change, Embeddedness, Clinician Connection, and Preparedness for the Future. Participant perceptions of, and engagement with, PBS + PLUS were influenced by an attitude of openness to new ideas and by the intervention itself. Achieving contextual relevance allowed the intervention to become embedded in participants' lives, and the client-clinician relationship was central to participants' positive experiences. While most participants felt better equipped to cope with the future, some experienced difficulties transitioning to post-intervention life. These results suggest PBS + PLUS may assist individuals with ABI to lead meaningful lives and more confidently overcome behavioural challenges, while encouraging supportive and empowered COs.
Abundant evidence documents stereotype threat's (ST) detrimental effect on test performance across identities and contexts (i.e., eliciting underperformance). Review of the literature shows varied aspects of both stereotyped identities and cognition are inconsistently explored across studies. Only a portion of the literature focuses on ST's impact on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Relevance exists for neuropsychologists, who engage in activities (i.e., assessments) that may activate ST, and should be aware of additional factors impacting testing results and clinical decision making.

Using scoping review criteria (Peters etal., 2015) and Preferred Reporting Item for Systemic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines, we reviewed literature across multiple databases (
) on ST and cognition with a focus on BIPOC.

The current literature suggests that race-based ST may be implicated in underperformance for executive functioning and separately working memory. There is limited research on the effects of ST for memory, language, attention, and visuospatial skills.

Research on ST requires additional attention to establish interventions to mitigate negative effects in practice. These results provide 1) an overview of the cognitive implications of ST, 2) address the scope of this impact for BIPOC, and 3) provide possible intervention and training strategies for neuropsychologists and other clinicians to work to mitigate the effects of ST on BIPOC.

However, there are not many researches to predict the prognosis of PAAD using m6A-related long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). Raw data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC), and the Genotype-Tissue Expression project (GTEx) were utilized to comprehensively analyze the expression and prognostic performances of 145 m6A-related lncRNAs in PAAD and to develop and validate a novel m6A-related multi-lncRNA prognostic signature (m6A-LPS) for PAAD patients. In total, 57 differentially expressed m6A-related lncRNAs with prognostic values were identified. Based on LASSO-Cox regression analysis, m6A-LPS was constructed and verified by using five-lncRNA expression profiles for TCGA and ICGC cohorts. PAAD patients were then divided into high- and low-risKBIE_A_1933868k subgroups with different clinical outcomes according to the median risk score; this was further verified by time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curves. Risk scores were significantly associated with clinical parameters such as histological grade and cancer status among PAAD patients. A nomogram consisting of risk score, grade, and cancer status was generated to predict the survival probability of PAAD patients, as also demonstrated by calibration curves. Discrepancies in cellular processes, signaling pathways, and immune status between the high- and low-risk subgroups were investigated by functional and single-sample gene set enrichment analyses. In conclusion, the novel m6A-LPS for PAAD patients was developed and validated, which might provide new insight into clinical decision-making and precision medicine.The study aims to clarify the current controversy related to conflicting reports on whether presence of Cr(VI) in rice is possible or not. For this purpose, a method was employed for the single run speciation analysis of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in rice samples using species-specific isotope dilution (SS-ID) and high performance liquid chromatography coupled to inductively coupled mass-spectrometry (HPLC-ICP-MS) and selective single run species complexation/derivatisation. The quantification limits (LOQs) were 0.014 μg kg-1 for Cr(III) and 0.047 μg kg-1 for Cr(VI), while the detection limits (LODs) were 0.004 and 0.014 μg kg-1 for Cr(III) and Cr(VI), respectively. A total of 10 rice samples of different origin and colour (depending on the type of industrial processing) were analysed in this study. The content of Cr(VI) was below the limit of quantification in all of the rice samples analysed, while the Cr(III) levels ranged between 0.59 (whole grain rice) up to 104 µg kg-1 (brown rice). All samples were also analysed for their total Cr (Crtotal) content by ICP-MS solely and the results were in all cases comparable with the Cr(III) levels determined in the same samples.
