To evaluate the modalities of methotrexate prescription for moderate to severe psoriasis by dermatologists in France.

We performed a national online practice survey between October and December 2020.

A total of 254 dermatologists responded, 237 reported prescribing methotrexate for moderate to severe psoriasis in adults, of which 57% as a first line systemic treatment. Nineteen percent reported performing a test dose at the initiation of treatment. Methotrexate was prescribed orally in 54.7% of cases, subcutaneously in 44.8% of cases and intramuscularly in 0.4% of cases. The initial weekly dose of methotrexate was <15 mg for 30% of the dermatologists and ≥15 mg for 70% of them. Two hundred and three dermatologists had already change the route of administration for methotrexate from the oral to injectable form due to poor tolerance (48.3%), lack of efficacy (35%) or lack of compliance (16.7%). Two hundred thirty-four dermatologists (98.7%) reported prescribing folic acid with methotrexate, and 79.3% reported prescribing tests evaluating the risk of hepatic fibrosis. Forty-three percent of dermatologists have not initiated or have reduced their prescriptions since the beginning of the pandemic of COVID-19. Prescribing patterns were different according to the type of practice (private practice versus hospital/mixed practice).

Previous studies have shown that the gait of patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus is abnormal compared with the healthy group. Currently, a three-dimensional motion analyzer system is commonly used for gait analysis. However, it is challenging to collect data and use in clinical study due to extensive experimental conditions and high price. In this study, we used a wearable gait analysis system (Gaitboter) to investigate the spatial and temporal parameters, and kinematic data of gait in diabetic patients, especially those with peripheral neuropathy. The aim of the study is to evaluate the wearable gait analysis system in diabetic study.

We conducted a case-control study to analyze the gait of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Gaitboter was used to detect and collect gait data in the ward of Beijing Chao-yang Hospital, Capital Medical University from June 2018 to October 2018. We collected the gait data of participants (N= 146; 73 patients with type 2 diabetes, 16 with peripheral neuropathy and 57 without periphlysis system (Gaitboter) is an ideal system to identify abnormal gait in patients with type 2 diabetes and provides a new device and method for diabetes-related gait research.

An economic model has been developed to determine the economic impact of the fraction of exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) in asthma diagnosis and management in primary care in Sweden. The model includes the use and cost of commonly used tests, the associated outcomes and diagnostic accuracy. We compared FeNO with spirometry and reversibility testing, methacholine challenge test, allergy testing, and blood eosinophil count. One-way sensitivity analyses were performed to confirm the robustness of results.

Adding FeNO measurement in asthma diagnosis resulted in cost savings of SEK 672 per patient by the fourth year. The use of FeNO testing in asthma management proved to be a dominant strategy when compared with each other test except methacholine challenge test. Sensitivity analyses confirmed the robustness of the results.

The study evaluated the public administration's policy responses and imperatives of social solidarity to reduce the havoc caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has not only posed a serious health threat but also brought economic, sociocultural and psychological crises to human beings all over the world. The study was conducted to give a clear picture of the COVID-19 pandemic socioeconomic crises in Ethiopia and policy responses given as well as the imperatives of social organizations in Ethiopia to tackle these challenges.

This article aimed to explore the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the socio-economic activities of Ethiopia and evaluate the effectiveness and limitations of the policy response given by the public administration vis-à-vis the role of social solidarity to reduce the calamity of the pandemic.

Qualitative research approach has been used and data were analyzed using narration, description, and exploration analysis method.

The findings of the study revealed that the policy responses given by the public administration and the solidarity of social organizations played great role in minimizing the socio-economic crises that the pandemic entailed. Policy responses had limitations and lack of appropriate institutional implementation platforms.

Urticarial vasculitis is a small vessel vasculitis characterized by long-lasting wheals. It was suggested omalizumab is well tolerated and effective in patients with hypocomplementaemic urticarial vasculitis.

To evaluate the clinical response and safety of omalizumab for treating patients with normocomplementaemic urticarial vasculitis (NUV) in real-world setting.

We collected data from a single-center. This study included patients with NUV who was received omalizumab therapy. During a 24-week study period, the clinical efficacy was evaluated by patient's self-assessment instrument urticarial vasculitis activity score and Dermatology Life Quality Index.

Five patients with NUV were enrolled. Three patients received 6 doses of 150 or 300 mg omalizumab subcutaneously every 4 weeks. selleckchem At 24-week follow-up, it was revealed improvement of clinical manifestations and reduction of urticarial vasculitis activity score and Dermatology Life Quality Index. At 24-week visit, mild wheals recurred in one patient who was only administrated with omalizumab for 4 times.
