The use of baloxavir, a new anti-influenza agent, began in Japan from the 2018 to 2019 season and became the focus of attention due to its efficient viral reduction ability; therefore, we should know the prescription changes of anti-influenza agents.

We analyzed the changes in the prescription of anti-influenza agents between the 2018-19 season and the 2019-20 season in our hospital.

The share of baloxavir was 15%, while the shares of oseltamivir and laninamivir were 42% and 31%, respectively in the 2018-2019 season. However, in the 2019-20 season, the share of baloxavir and laninamivir was reduced to 3% and 17%, respectively, in contrast to an increase in the share of oseltamivir (66%). The total prescription of anti-influenza agents for patients decreased in the 2019-20 season (205 patients), compared with the 2018-19 season (509 patients).

These results suggest significant changes such as a reduction in the prescription of anti-influenza agents, especially baloxavir, likely due to the suspected prevalence of a baloxavir-resistant strain of influenza virus and the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 in Japan.

A seven-year-old girl with an impaired level of consciousness and difficulty breathing was brought to a local hospital about one hour after burning with boiling water. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 0 on logMAR with spherical equivalent (SE) 9 D in the right eye, and BCVA of 0.3 logMAR with a SE 8.75 D in the left. FLACS was performed on the left then the right eye using the Catalys platform of Johnson & Johnson (intraocular lens implantation of AMO Tecnis 1 ZCB00). Customized parameters were constructed to create capsulotomies of 4.54.7 mm for the left and right eyes, respectively, with manual centration of the distorted pupils. On the second day of follow-up, left-eye BCVA was 0.5 with SE 1 D, and right-eye BCVA was 1 with SE -0.75 D. At the 1-year follow-up, eyes showed stable bilateral Tecnis 1 IOL and refraction. FLACS is a safe surgical option with stable outcomes in cases of cataract with iris coloboma.Multiple myeloma (MM) commonly presents with anemia and bone pain. Besides bone marrow involvement, MM has a tendency to involve other organs with gastrointestinal (GI) tract, especially lower GI tract involvement being uncommon. Our case shows an elderly male with anemia due to suspected GI malignancy. Investigations revealed anemia, thrombocytopenia, positive stool occult blood and inconclusive diagnostic endoscopic findings. An elevated serum total protein, serum calcium and serum creatinine gave rise to the suspicion of MM which was later supported by the fulfilment of the CRAB criteria, expressed as hypercalcemia, renal failure, anemia and lytic lesions on skull X-ray. The relationship between multiple myeloma and GI bleeding is rare and indicates extramedullary disease which is a sign of poor prognosis. Early detection may alter the prognostic course of MM.
Antenatal care (ANC) is one of the most cost-effective and crucial components of maternal health care services. In developing countries where access to care, empowerment, and decision making power of women is low, ANC service is vital. The time at which first ANC visit was done has the utmost importance to ensure optimal health effects for both women and children. This study aimed to assess the proportion and factors associated with early antenatal care booking among pregnant women who were attending public health institutions in a remote area of Bule Hora district, Southern Ethiopia, from May to July, 2019.

Institutional-based cross-sectional study design was conducted at Bule Hora district public health facilities. Data were collected on systematically selected 377 pregnant women from 1st May to 30th July 2019. The sample size was determined by single population proportion formula and data were collected by using a standardized and pretested questionnaire and entered into Epidata 3.1 version, and then exported to Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25 for analysis.
