A list of Reporting Items for Stakeholder Analysis (i.e., the RISA tool) is proposed to contribute to the reporting guidelines to enhancing the quality and transparency of health research.Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of RNA molecules with a covalently closed loop structure formed by back-splicing of exon-exon junctions. The detection of circRNAs across many eukaryotic species, often with cell-type- and tissue-type-specific expression, has catalyzed a growing interest in understanding circRNA biogenesis and their potential functions. circRNAs are enriched in the brain, and accumulate upon neuronal differentiation and depolarization, suggesting that these RNAs are an integral component of the brain transcriptome, and may play functional roles. Here, we give an overview of the current understanding of circRNA biogenesis and function, discuss how circRNAs contribute to transcriptome complexity in the brain, and discuss recent data on the functional roles of circRNAs in the brain. We also discuss emerging data on the role of circRNAs in brain disorders and address common challenges of circRNA quantification in postmortem human brain.
The aim was to investigate the effects of Turkish classical music on pain and oxidative stress in patients undergoing oocyte pick-up.

The study was a randomized, controlled trial. The groups included were Group NM (Non-Music), control group; Group PM, which comprised patients who listened to music before the operation; and Group CM, which comprised patients who listened to music both before and during the operation. Blood was drawn prior to the operation to measure the oxidative stress values. Pain, hemodynamic parameters, oxidative stress values were assessed postoperatively.

The number of patients requiring additional propofol was higher in Group PM than in Groups NM and CM (p=0.003). The postoperative Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score were lower in Groups PM and CM than in Group NM (p=0.001, p=0.007) in the 1
and 60
minutes. The postoperative VAS score was lower in Group CM than in Group NM (p=0.045) in the 5
minute. The postoperative additional analgesic requirements were lower in Groups PM and CM than in Group NM (p=0.045). The postoperative blood glutathione peroxidase values were significantly higher in Groups PM and CM than in Group NM (p=0.001). The postoperative catalase values were significantly higher in Groups PM and CM than in Group NM (p=0.008 and p≤0.001). The preoperative malondialdehyde values were significantly lower in Groups PM and CM than in Group NM. The preoperative nitric oxide values were higher in Groups PM and CM than in Group NM (p≤0.001), whereas the postoperative nitric oxide values were lower in Groups PM and CM than in Group NM (p≤0.001).

Diabetes mellitus and sleep apnoea-hypopnoea syndrome appear to be related, but it is not well defined whether there is an increased risk of peripheral neuropathy in patients with both diseases. For this reason, we conducted a systematic review.

Bibliographic search in 3 electronic databases using a predefined strategy and the PRISMA methodology. Only original studies (any type of design) published from 2000 onwards in English, French, Portuguese or Spanish were included. A study quality scale was established.

Twelve articles were selected, of which six studied type 2 diabetic patients. The overall prevalence of sleep apnoea-hypopnoea syndrome was 43.7% (1,559/3,564 patients). Diabetic neuropathy was more frequent in patients with sleep apnoea-hypopnoea syndrome in nine studies, although significantly only in four (60% vs 27%, P<.001; 64.5% vs 36%, P=.03; 37% vs 23.4%, P<.02; 66.6% vs 0%, P=.007). In one study, diabetic neuropathy was more frequent in patients without sleep apnoea-hypopnoea syndrome (although not statistically significant) and in 2 no comparison was made between patients with/without sleep apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome.

There is great interest in better characterizing patients with heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HF-PEF). The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence, progression over time and to describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of patients with HF-PEF.

From the National Registry of Heart Failure (RICA, prospective multicentre cohort study) we analysed patients consecutively admitted for HF in Internal Medicine wards over a period of 11 years (2008-2018).

4752 patients were included, 2957 (62.2%) with preserved ejection fraction. This prevalence remained constant from 2008 to 2019. Compared to patients with HF and reduced ejection fraction (HF-REF) patients with HF-PEF are older, more are female, there is a higher prevalence of hypertensive and valvular aetiology, they have a profile of different comorbidities and worse functional status. A high proportion of patients receive disease-modifying treatment for IC-REF (renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors and beta-blockers). EGCG The overall mortality after one-year follow-up was 24% and 30% in the HF-PEF and the HF-REF, respectively. In the multivariate analysis, the risk of death was higher in patients with HF-REF compared to HF-PEF (OR 1.84; 95% CI [1.43-2.36]). The length of hospital stay was also lower in the HF-PEF patients but there were no differences in re-hospitalizations.
