In the present study, we have explored the potential of newly isolated Aspergillus terreus BD strain, which can accumulate itaconic acid (IA) at higher temperature. The shake flask cultivation of thermotolerant strain with medium optimized using Box-Behnken Design at 45 °C resulted in IA accumulation of 28.9 g/L with yield of 0.27 g/g. The enzymatic saccharification of the synthetic food waste (SFW) consisting of potatoes, rice & noodles were optimized using Taguchi method of orthogonal array to maximize the release of fermentable sugar. The maximum glucose release of 0.60 g/g was achieved with 10% biomass loading, 5% enzyme concentration, pH 5.5 and temperature 60 0C. The sugars obtained from SFW was integrated with IA production and maximum IA titer achieved with SFW hydrolysate during bioreactor cultivation was 41.1 g/L with conversion yield of 0.27 g/g while with pure glucose IA titer and yield were 44.7 g/L and 0.30 g/g, respectively.
To identify prognostic factors of invasive-disease free survival (iDFS) in women with non-metastatic hormone receptor positive (HR+) breast cancer (BC) in daily routine practice.

We performed a retrospective study using data from the Côte d'Or breast and gynecological cancer registry in France. All women diagnosed with primary invasive non-metastatic HR+BC from 1998 to 2015 and treated by endocrine therapy (ET) were included. Women with bilateral tumors or who received ET for either metastasis or relapse were excluded. We performed adjusted survival analysis and Cox regression to identify prognostic factors of iDFS.

A total of 3976 women were included. Age at diagnosis, ET class, SBR grade, treatment, stage and comorbidity were independently associated with iDFS. Women who had neither surgery nor radiotherapy had the highest risk of recurrence (HR=3.75, 95%CI [2.65-5.32], p<0.0001). Receiving aromatase inhibitors (AI) was associated with a lower risk of recurrence (HR=0.70, 95%CI [0.54-0.90], p=0.055) compared to tamoxifen. Compared to women with no comorbidities, women with 1 or 2 comorbidities were more likely to receive AI (OR=1.63, 95%CI [1.22-2.17], p=0.0009).

Comorbidities, age at diagnosis and previous treatment were associated with iDFS in non-metastatic HR+BC patients. This study also showed that women who received tamoxifen for their cancer experienced worse iDFS compared to women treated with AI.

Likewise to dermal fillers any foreign material may cause a reaction when the immune system is triggered. In the recent weeks we observed four noteworthy potential reactions in association with breast implants between one and three days after COVID-19 vaccinations. We release these information at the earliest to educate colleagues and draw attention to possible reactions between the COVID-19 vaccines and foreign bodies such as breast implants.
A mobile application for personal health records (PHR) would allow patients to access their clinical data easily. When PHR connects with multiple electronic health records (EHRs), doctors and patients can exchange large quantities of patient data from the EHR (e.g., medication list, diagnoses, allergies, and laboratory data). Furthermore, personal daily records can also be retrieved from PHR (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, dietary habits, and exercise). However, no standard interoperability between EHRs and PHR has been established. This study aims to convert clinical data in EHRs into the Health Level Seven (HL7) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) data format while developing a PHR application to present the FHIR data.

In Japan, Standardized Structured Medical Information eXchange version 2 (SS-MIX2) is typically utilized as a health information exchange to preserve and elicit clinical data from EHRs. We converted clinical data in the SS-MIX2 storage at Tohoku University Hospital into the FHIR repository server using the R4 standard. Additionally, we used the Swift programming language to build a PHR application.

We converted patients' basic information, disease names, diagnostic reports, prescriptions, and injection data from the SS-MIX2 to the FHIR server. Fasudil clinical trial Besides, we launched a PHR application that could retrieve data from the FHIR server to display patients' clinical information.

Our work demonstrated the conversion of SS-MIX2 data into the FHIR and presented them with our PHR application. This mechanism may be useful to accelerate the sharing of clinical information among doctors and patients.

Manual brain tumor segmentation by radiologists is time consuming and subjective. Therefore, fully automatic segmentation of different brain tumor subregions is essential to the treatment of patients. In this paper, we propose a neural network for automatically segmenting the enhancing tumor (ET), whole tumor (WT), and tumor core (TC) brain tumor subregions.

The network is based on a U-Net with encoding and decoding structure, a residual module, and a spatial dilated feature pyramid (DFP) module, namely, DFP-ResUNet. First, we propose using a spatial DFP module composed of multiple parallel dilated convolution layers to extract the multiscale image features. This spatial DFP structure improves the ability of the neural network to extract and utilize the multiscale image features. Then, we use the residual module to deepen the network structure. Further, we propose using a multiclass Dice loss function to suppress the impact of class imbalance on brain tumor segmentation. We carried out a large number of ablation experiments to verify the feasibility and superiority of our approach using the Multimodal Brain Tumor Segmentation (BraTS) challenge dataset.
