The laser cutting of rock has been popular recently because of its advantages over traditional rock cutting methods. Several types of research were performed to replace traditional rock cutting techniques with laser cutting. The purpose of this experiment is to observe cutting quality for intrusive igneous rocks using a high-power multimode fiber laser. The cutting quality, in terms of kerf width and penetration depth, resulted from different scanning speeds and was studied and compared. The specimens used in this study were gabbro, granite, and diorite, which are widely applied in the construction industry because of their high compressive strength and beautiful textures. Energy-dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) analyses were conducted to observe the chemical content of three different areas, the melting area, the burnt area, and a non-processed area, for each rock specimen. The study of the compositional changes in each area will also go over the cutting quality of each rock specimen at different scanning speeds. According to the experimental results, the kerf widths of the specimens gradually decrease as the scanning speeds increase. The penetration depths into the specimens sharply decrease as scanning speeds increase. From a study of their compositional changes, it is found that the cutting quality for each rock depends on their silica content. This study summarizes that the cutting quality for a rock specimen greatly depends on the scanning speed of the laser cutting. There are several human viruses and bacteria currently known to be associated with cancer. A common theme indicates that these microorganisms have evolved mechanisms to hamper the pathways dedicated to maintaining the integrity of genetic information, preventing apoptosis of the damaged cells and causing unwanted cellular proliferation. This eventually reduces the ability of their hosts to repair the damage(s) and eventually results in cellular transformation, cancer progression and reduced response to therapy. Our data suggest that mycoplasmas, and perhaps certain other bacteria with closely related DnaKs, may also contribute to cellular transformation and hamper certain drugs that rely on functional p53 for their anti-cancer activity. Understanding the precise molecular mechanisms is important for cancer prevention and for the development of both new anti-cancer drugs and for improving the efficacy of existing therapies.Carotenoids loaded in nanoparticles should be regarded as a promising way to increase the availability in healthy cells and to induce apoptosis in cancer. Lutein is a carotenoid that, in contrast to beta-carotene, has no known toxicities. Oral cancer represents one of the most frequent types of cancer world-wide with an incidence rate of about 9% of all types of cancer. Almost 95% of all oral cancers are represented by squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC). The aim of this study was to review and analyse the effects of lutein and Poly(d,l-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) Nps containing lutein (Lut Nps) on oxidative stress biomarkers (OXSR-1, FOXO-3, TAC) and collagen degradation biomarker-MMP-9, in human cells BICR10 of buccal mucosa squamous carcinoma. Lut Nps were prepared by the emulsion-solvent evaporation method. MMP, OXSR-1, TAC, FOXO-3 and MMP-9 were measured in tumour cell lysates by the ELISA technique. Our results have shown that in Lut 100 cells and Lut Nps the OXSR1 (p less then 0.001, p less then 0.001) and TAC (p less then 0.001, p less then 0.001) values were significantly higher than in control cells. The Lut 100 and Lut Nps FOXO-3 levels revealed no significant differences versus the control. MMP-9 levels were significantly reduced (p less then 0.001) in the Lut Nps cells versus control cells. In our study conditions, lutein and lutein Nps did not trigger an oxidative stress by ROS induction. However, lutein Nps treatment seemed to have a positive effect, by downregulating the MMP-9 levels. Loaded in Nps, lutein could be regarded as a protective factor against local invasiveness, in whose molecular landscape MMPs, and especially MMP-9 are the main actors.Badminton requires both aerobic fitness and anaerobic ability for high performance. High intensity interval training (HIIT) is a traditional training method for improving fitness. In this study, we investigated whether short-term Wingate-based HIIT is effective for improving anaerobic activity in youth badminton players. Participants included 32 total badminton players in middle school and high school. They were divided into two groups (HIIT and moderate continuous training (MCT)). Training occurred for 4 weeks in total, three times a week, for 30 min each session. AOA hemihydrochloride purchase A body composition test, isokinetic knee muscle function test (60°/s, 240°/s), Wingate anaerobic power test (30 s × 5 sets), and analysis of heart rate changes were undertaken before and after training. After 4 weeks, body fat decreased in the HIIT group (p = 0.019); they also showed superior anaerobic ability compared to the MCT group. Differences were statistically significant in 3-4 sets (three sets, p = 0.019; four sets, p = 0.021). Regarding fatigue, the HIIT group showed superior fatigue improvement after training and better fatigue recovery ability in 3~5 sets (three sets, p = 0.032; four sets, p = 0.017; five sets, p = 0.003) than the MCT group. Neither group exhibited changes in heart rate during the anaerobic power test after training. Both groups improved in terms of isokinetic knee muscle function at 60°/s with no differences. However, at 240°/s, the HIIT group showed a statistically significant improvement (p = 0.035). Therefore, HIIT for 4 weeks improved the athletes' performance and physical strength.Severe neurological impairment was more prevalent in cardiac arrest survivors who were administered epinephrine than in those administered placebo in a randomized clinical trial; short-term reduction of brain tissue O2 tension (PbtO2) after epinephrine administration in swine following a short duration of untreated cardiac arrest has also been reported. We investigated the effects of epinephrine administered during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on cerebral oxygenation after restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in a swine model with a clinically relevant duration of untreated cardiac arrest. After 7 min of ventricular fibrillation, 24 pigs randomly received either epinephrine or saline placebo during CPR. Parietal cortex measurements during 60-min post-resuscitation period showed that the area under the curve (AUC) for PbtO2 was smaller in the epinephrine group than in the placebo group during the initial 10-min period and subsequent 50-min period (both p less then 0.05). The AUC for number of perfused cerebral capillaries was smaller in the epinephrine group during the initial 10-min period (p = 0.
