The primo vascular system (PVS) is a novel network composed of primo nodes (PNs) and primo vessels (PVs). Currently, its anatomy is not fully understood.

The aim of this study was to elucidate the three-dimensional PN-PV structure.

Organ-surface PVS tissue was isolated from healthy and anemic rats. The tissues were analyzed by X-ray microcomputed tomography (CT), hematoxylin and eosin staining, and scanning electron microscopy.

From CT images, we identified one or more bundles in a PV. In the PN, the bundles were enlarged and existed in isolation and/or in anastomosis. The transverse CT images revealed four areas of distinct intensities zero, low, intermediate, and high. The first two were considered to be the sinuses and the subvessels of the PVS and were identified in the hematoxylin and eosin-stained PN sections. The enlargement of the PN from anemic rats was associated with an increase in the intermediate-intensity area. The high-intensity area demarcated the bundle and was overlapped with the mesothelial cells. In scanning electron microscopy, the PV bundles branched out, tapering down to a single bundle at some distance from the PN. Each bundle was composed of several subvessels (∼5μm). Clustered round microcells (1-25μm), scattered flat oval cells (∼15μm), and amorphous extracellular matrix were observed on the surface of the PVS tissue.

Self-harm-related death is one of the most unfortunate, tragic, and regrettable types of death owing to injuries with a variety of socio-economic and cultural causes. The study aimed to determine the trend in the mortality of self-harm by sex and age at national and provincial levels in Iran over a period of 26 years.

The Iran Death Registration System (DRS), cemetery databanks in Tehran and Esfahan, and the national population and housing censuses of Iran were used for this study. Using a growth model, the population was estimated in the age groups. Incompleteness, misalignment, and misclassification in the DRS were all considered and addressed accordingly. We used a spatio-temporal and Gaussian process regression model to estimate mortality rates in children and adults.

Over the study period, 67,670 deaths were estimated owing to self-harm across the country. The overall age-standardized mortality rate decreased from 4.32 per 100,000 (95% unit interface (UI) 3.25-5.75) to 2.78 (2.15-3.59) per 100,000 tive and low-cost preventive interventions.

This study used data from the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey, 2012-13. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the association of income with the probability of a general practitioner (GP) visit, a specialist visit and inpatient admission. The horizontal inequity (HI) index and decomposition analysis were also used to quantify and explain inequity in healthcare use.

No consistent association was found between income and the probability of GP visit or inpatient admission after controlling for health need. However, the likelihood of visities and initiatives are required to address the inequity faced by low-income indigenous people in Australia.
There are concerns internationally that lockdown measures taken during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic could lead to a rise in loneliness. As loneliness is recognised as a major public health concern, it is therefore vital that research considers the impact of the current COVID-19 pandemic on loneliness to provide necessary support. But it remains unclear, who is lonely in lockdown?

This study compared sociodemographic predictors of loneliness before and during the COVID-19 pandemic using cross-cohort analyses of data from UK adults captured before the pandemic (UK Household Longitudinal Study, n=31,064) and during the pandemic (UCL (University College London) COVID-19 Social Study, n=60,341).

Young adults, women, people with lower education or income, the economically inactive, people living alone and urban residents had a higher risk of being lonely. Electroanatomical mapping (EAM) could increase cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) sensitivity in detecting ventricular scar. An EAM was created for each patient (345±85 points). After removing poor contact points, a mean of 149±60 points was collected.
