Prenatal ultrasound (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have led to an increased diagnosis of abdominal LM and improved monitoring and intervention postnatally. This article provides an overview of fetal abdominal LM, including the prenatal diagnoses, differential diagnoses, comprehensive illustrations of the imaging findings, treatments, and fetal outcomes.
We have previously reported that cumulative live birth rates (CLBRs) are higher in the freeze-all group compared with controls (64.3% vs. 45.8%, p=0.001). Here, we aim to determine if the freeze-all policy is more cost-effective than fresh embryo transfer followed by frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET).
The analysis consisted of 704 ART (Assisted reproductive technology) cycles, which included in IVF (Invitro fertilisation) and ICSI (Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) cycles performed in Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Taiwan between January 2012 and June 2014. The freeze-all group involved 84 patients and the fresh Group 625 patients. Patients were followed up until all embryos obtained from a single controlled ovarian hyper-stimulation cycle were used up, or a live birth had been achieved. The total cost related to treatment of each patient was recorded. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) was based on the incremental cost per couple and the incremental live birth rate of the freeze-all reatment, as long as the additional cost of US $2703.57 per additional live birth is financially acceptable for the subjects.
To assess the association between advanced maternal age and adverse perinatal outcomes in single pregnancies.
A cohort study was conducted using data from 27,455 singleton births attended at our hospital between 2007 and 2018. Three maternal age groups were established, and perinatal outcomes were compared between-groups (<35 years (n=19,429; 70.7%), 35-40 years (n=7189; 26.2%), and >40 years (n=846; 3.1%). The data were compared using chi-square analysis and the results were adjusted using a logistic regression model. Decision trees were designed to examine the fetal mortality and caesarean section variables. We used the SPSS 23 statistical software program for the statistical analysis.
The mean age of the women was 31.21 years. No differences were found associated with age for neonatal acidosis, an Apgar score <7at 5min after birth, threatened preterm labour, preterm rupture of membranes, or high-grade perineal tear. The analyses found statistically significant increases in the rates of hypertensive disorders, diabetes mellitus, induction of labour, and caesarean section, after 35 years of age. The risks of fetal death, neonatal admission, small for gestational age, placenta previa, instrument delivery, maternal ICU admission, and postpartum haemorrhage were greater after 40 years of age.
The results of our study indicated that women >35 years of age had worse perinatal outcomes, compared with younger women. This finding was more evident in patients >40 years of age, which highlighted the greater risk of fetal death and serious maternal complications in this group.

To evaluate efficacy of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for pelvic boost irradiation in gynecological cancer patients with pelvic recurrence or with intact uterus unsuitable for brachytherapy.
We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 25 gynecological cancer patients who received SBRT boost for pelvic recurrence (salvage group, n=14), or for local dose escalation instead of intracavitary brachytherapy due to unfavorable medical condition (definitive group, n=11). The pelvis was irradiated with a median dose of 54Gy in six weeks, and then SBRT was prescribed with a range of 10-25Gy in two to five fractions. The cumulative radiobiological equivalent dose in 2-Gy fractions (EQD2) to the tumors ranged from 62.5 to 89.5 Gy
(median, 80.7). Overall survival (OS) and in-field relapse-free survival (IFRFS) were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method.
At the initial assessment, eighteen (72%) patients achieved complete or partial remission, and seven (28%) had stable or progressive disease. With a median follow duration of 12 months, the 1-year IFRFS for salvage and definitive group were 64.
