This study aimed to compare the parameters of lung cancer research papers with those cited as references in lung cancer CPGs from 16 countries, and the Cochrane Collaboration. These comparisons were mainly based on bibliographic data compiled from the Web of Science (WoS).

We examined 7357 references (of which 4491 were unique) cited in a total of 77 lung cancer CPGs, and compared them with 73,214 lung cancer papers published in the WoS between 2004 and 2018.

References used by lung CPGs were much more clinical than the overall body of research papers on this cancer, and their authors predominantly came from smaller northern European countries. However, the leading institutions whose papers were cited the most on these CPGs were from the USA, notably the MD Anderls. Own-country references show the direct contribution of research to a country's health care, and other-country references show the esteem in which this research has been held internationally.
Definitive chemoradiation with consolidative immunotherapy offers the best chance for cure in patients with unresectable, locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, treatment-related lymphopenia (TRL) may negatively impact outcomes.

Patients definitively treated with chemoradiation and immunotherapy from 2015 to 2019 at a single tertiary academic center were identified. Severe lymphopenia was defined as <0.5 × 10
cells/L. Progression-free survival (PFS) was calculated by Kaplan Meier methodology. Univariate and multivariate Cox Proportional Hazard modeling was used to correlate clinical variables with disease outcome. Immune-related adverse events (irAEs) were assessed according to CTCAE version 5.0 criteria.

Seventy-eight patients were included in the final cohort. The median age was 66 years (IQR 58-73), 55 % were males, and 88 % had a KPS of >70. At baseline, 90 % (n = 70/78) of patients had a normal ALC and one patient had severe lymphopenia. After chemoradiation, the medint of lymphopenia and strategies to mitigate lymphopenic effects should be considered.
Preoperative planning of lung resection extent is decisive for preoperative functional work-up and selection for multimodal treatment. It is mainly based on preoperative chest CT. We aimed at evaluating chest CT adequacy to predict the extent of lung resection and hypothesized a relation with CT interpreters' level of experience.

A pseudonymized CT library was built from patients who had curative intent lung resection for centrally located NSCLC. CT library was interpreted by 20 thoracic surgery residents or attendings. Interpreters were blinded to intraoperative findings and scored one point when lung resection was adequately planned. Points were summed up in a score from 0 to 20. Interpreters' experience was evaluated through nine variables age, position (resident vs. attending), years of experience in evaluating chest CTs, number of anatomic resections and sleeve resections attended as first assistant or performed as surgeon in presence of a teaching assistant or as main surgeon/teaching assistant. Variables characterizing interpreters' experience were divided into equal sized groups. Independent sample T-test and one-way ANOVA/Tukey post hoc tests were used to compare scores between groups.

CT library included 20 patients. Lung resections were lobectomy (n = 7, 35 %), sleeve lobectomy (n = 10, 50 %), sleeve bilobectomy (n = 2, 10 %), pneumonectomy (n = 1, 5%). Twenty interpreters scored a median of 10 (4-14). Attending surgeons had significantly higher mean scores (11.2 ± 1.3) compared to residents (7.7 ± 2.3, p = 0.001). All scores were significantly different between groups related to interpreters' levels of experience, except for interpreters'age.

Immune-related genes play crucial roles in this association. Nevertheless, until now, identification of these genes on a large scale has not received much attention. To gain insight into the parasitic effects of the endoparasitoid Aulacocentrum confusum (Hymenoptera Braconidae) on Glyphodes pyloalis (Lepidoptera Pyralidae) larva, which is a destructive pest of mulberry (Morus alba L.) trees in China, we presented a transcriptome dataset for uncovering immune-related genes in parasitized G. pyloalis larvae. In total, 91,118,138 and 92,778,814 clean reads were obtained from parasitized and healthy host larvae, respectively, and de novo assembly generated 57,122 unigenes. The transcriptional profile of G. pyloalis larvae was remarkably influenced by parasitism. A total of 3259 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in parasitized and nonparasitized G. pyloalis larvae and 55 genes related to immune response were screened from these DEGs. Among the 55 DEGs, 37 genes were significantly upregulated, and 18 genes were downregulated. qRT-PCR validated the sequencing results and revealed that the expression levels of selected immune-related genes depended on the parasitization and duration after parasitization. Knocking down the C type lectin gene (CTL) changed the expression of serine proteinase, serine protease inhibitor, antimicrobial peptide, prophenoloxidase activating enzymes and peroxiredoxin in G. pyloalis larvae, suggesting CTL can modulate the immune response after parasitization by A. confusum females. The present study provides a foundation for revealing the molecular mechanisms of immune response in G. pyloalis larvae when they are parasitized by A. confusum and promotes the development of novel biological control practices for G. pyloalis.
