Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency you have to manually vacuum. Choose a robot vacuum with good navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners and has large bins that only needs to be emptied periodically.
There are models that mop and charge themselves, which is a feature essential for families with children or pets. A lot of the top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ an excellent option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind having to empty their dust bin manually as it gets full.
Both robots are good in removing dirt and dust particles on hard floors and carpets and can move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have tested. It can be stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.
iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including getting rid of any clutter or toys it may come across. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is low it will return to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning the area where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It is self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot via the app or via voice.
In our testing the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session and to move around the room and sweep a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car that is amidst a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to suck up large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes to match the task at hand. It is able to swiftly change from handheld to floor vacuum and vice versa.
This model also has docks that charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments as well as an clip for a wand. This is a significant improvement over previous Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The biggest issue with the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it has up to 60 minutes of run time are not true as CR's tests show. This is an average not an extraordinary run time for a battery-powered cordless vac. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home, but not quite long enough to get every single area (though an additional run-through often does the trick). This doesn't mean that this model isn't a good choice It's lighter and more agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of the most well-known robot vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and it often passes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls and walls, which is a nice addition.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top selections and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. As a result, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often runs out of battery power before making it back to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The RoboVac X8 is a slick RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, because it has a better battery life, can change its suction power mode on its own, comes with physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and performs better on low-pile and bare floors.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name that you see on all sorts of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're one of the most reputable robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations docking frequency settings and many more. The app is simple to use and understand, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well in avoiding taller objects like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested, and this could be a problem for some shoppers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible via the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you to check in on your children or pets while you are away. The filter and dustbin can be washed for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps to keep the bin clean and improves suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been designed specifically for hard flooring. The robots come with an extra-wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2X bigger than the competitors. This allows them to keep the area clean for longer. They also have two side sweepers to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level depending on whether it's cleaning up surface dirt or embedded dirt. It also includes a smart application that lets you view the virtual map and control the functions and schedules. Additionally, you can track the vacuum's battery status and then return it to its dock to charge at the push of the button. The app lets you modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum to tell where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.
best robot floor cleaner makes it simple to steer the robot manually if needed. For instance, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to trip up some of the other robots I've tested. The HRV 425BL, however continued to travel across the border without registering the cliff. Also, the ability to create the weekly cleaning schedule is a great time-saving convenience.
