This is the first meta-analysis to report the relationship between CD109 expression and prognosis in cancer patients.
Previous studies displayed that thrombomodulin gene polymorphisms are closely associated with venous thromboembolism (VTE), while the results are inconsistent. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to accurately determine the association between thrombomodulin gene polymorphism and the risk of VTE.

Wanfang, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, the Chongqing VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database, PubMed, EmBase, and Web of Science databases were searched, and the time to build the database was set until January 2021. The association between thrombomodulin gene polymorphism and the risk of VTE was evaluated. Meta-analysis was performed with STATA 16.0 software, and the odds ratio and its 95% confidence interval were applied to estimate the relationship between thrombomodulin gene polym'orphism and the risk of VTE.

The results of this meta-analysis will be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal for publication.

This meta-analysis will summarize the relationship between thrombomodulin genepolymorphism and VTE risk.

Ethical approval was not required for this study. The systematic review will be published in a peer-reviewed journal, presented at conferences, and shared on social media platforms. This review would be disseminated in a peer-reviewed journal or conference presentations.

This study evaluated the outcomes and prognostic factors for breast cancer according to initial lymph node (LN) status. Among patients with LN-negative breast cancer, we also focused on the prognostic value of estrogen receptor (ER) status.Medical records were retrospectively reviewed for 715 patients who underwent curative surgery for breast cancer between January 2005 and December 2015 at a single Korean institution. We evaluated factors that were associated with metastasis-free survival (MFS) according to LN status.Among the 715 patients (age 28-87 years), 458 patients (64.1%) did not have axillary LN metastasis. Relative to patients without LN metastasis, patients with LN metastasis had larger tumor sizes and higher histological grades. Among patients with no LN metastasis, ER positivity was associated with non-significantly poorer MFS than ER negativity (mean survival 138.90 months vs. 146.99 months, p = .17), and patients with LN-negative ER-positive disease had MFS rates of 91.7% at 5 years and 74.5%ts without LN metastasis, patients with LN metastasis had larger tumor sizes and higher histological grades. Among patients with no LN metastasis, ER positivity was associated with non-significantly poorer MFS than ER negativity (mean survival 138.90 months vs. 146.99 months, p = .17), and patients with LN-negative ER-positive disease had MFS rates of 91.7% at 5 years and 74.5% at 10 years. Among patients with LN-negative ER-positive disease, a poor prognosis was significantly associated with larger tumor size (≥2 cm, P = .03) and older age (≥50 years, P = .03).These results indicate that the risk of metastasis increases over time for patients with LN-negative ER-positive breast cancer, and especially for older patients or patients with larger tumors.
Though the previous studies had described various surgical techniques for the treatment of mallet finger injuries, consensus on which technique was the most effective and appropriate surgical methods had not yet reached. This review aimed to systematically compare the effectiveness and safety of the treatment for mallet finger injuries via Kirschner wire fixation versus suture anchor technique to recommend an optimum option.

All literatures published until December 31, 2019 compared Kirschner wire fixation versus suture anchor technique to treat mallet finger were acquired through a comprehensive search in multiple databases. A meta-analysis was performed by the Cochrane Collaboration's RevMan 5.3 software.

A total of 8 trials with 362 cases consisted of 4 randomized controlled trials and 4 prospective studies. The results suggested that the groups treated with kirschner wire fixation experienced more significant advantage in less complications than suture anchor groups (P  < .05). On the other hand, lications, Kirschner wire fixation should be a better alternative relative to the suture anchor technique for inevitable surgical treatment of mallet finger lesions. However, a prudent attitude is still necessary to choose the two operative managements before a large sample and high-quality randomized controlled trials had been performed.
Stent retriever mechanical thrombectomy is a recommended treatment for acute ischemic stroke. However, refractory thrombus in artery bifurcation can reduce the rate of successful revascularization.

A 72-year-old male, owing to the acute onset of almost complete right-sided hemiplegia and global aphasia, received bridging therapy. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score was 16 at the time of admission.

Cerebral digital subtraction angiography revealed occlusion of the M1 segment of the left MCA.

Thrombectomy with 3 passes of the Solitaire FR device (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN) was unsuccessful. SL-327 Two stent retrievers were inserted in parallel by one microcatheter access point to each M2 branch, and then both stents were gradually retrieved out of the catheter while continuous suction was maintained.

After thrombectomy, subsequent follow-up angiograms showed mTICI 3 reperfusion of MCA. The patient has mRS 2 at discharge and the 3-month mRS score after stroke is 1 score.

The presented Y-configuration double-stent-retriever thrombectomy technique constitutes a safe and effective rescue treatment method for refractory thrombus in MCA bifurcation.

Primary pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (PPLELC) is a rare subtype of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It is predominantly reported in East Asia and currently there is no standard treatment for this disease. We report a case of stage IV PPLELC that achieved pathological complete response (pCR) by neoadjuvant treatment.

The patient was a 46-year-old male who developed hemoptysis for about 20 ml of volume accompanied by cough and sputum after physical labor.

Contrast enhanced chest CT scanning showed occupation of left lower hilar area and left pleural effusion. Combined with medical history and auxiliary examination, the patient was formally diagnosed stage IV lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma of the left lower lung (T3N0M1a pleura).

The patient was given Sintilimab combined with gemcitabine + nedaplatin chemotherapy (GP) regimen for four cycles with 3 weeks as a cycle, supplemented with antiemetics and stomach protection drugs to reduce chemotherapy-related side effects.

After 4 cycles of treatment, the patient's left lung lesion has been markedly reduced and the left pleural effusion has also been significantly absorbed.
