Therefore, the ability to preoperatively assess potential risk factors for early postoperative unfavorable events is important to preselect critical patients who might require special attention during clinical management. In the current study, we therefore analyzed our institutional database in order to identify risk factors associated with early postoperative complications after initial meningioma resection. Between 2014 and 2017, 202 patients with intracranial supratentorial meningioma were surgically treated at the authors' institution. The EnDOvascular treatment (Edo) registry database includes 324 patients from 10 institutes who were registered between November 2011 and October 2013. A total of 70 ALI patients (mean age 74.0 years) from the Edo registry database were enrolled in this study. Of the 70 included patients, 72.9% were male and 35.7% had embolism. Of patients, 38.6%, 42.9%, and 18.6% underwent EVT, surgery, and hybrid thrombectomy, respectively, in primary revascularization strategy. Limb ischemia was categorized into four classes at initial evaluation SVS/ISCVS class I (n = 13, 18.6%), SVS/ISCVS class IIa (n = 36, 51.4%), SVS/ISCVS class IIb (n = 21, 30%), and SVS/ISCVS class III (n = 0, 0%). Three patients with SVS/ISCVS class IIb limb ischemia developed myonephropathic metabolic syndrome. No catheter-directed thrombolysis was employed as a primary revascularization strategy. The 1-year rates of all-cause death, major amputation, and a composite of perioperative death or major adverse limb event were 28.6%, 5.7%, and 40.0%, respectively. Lower age, male sex, dyslipidemia, high estimated glomerular filtration rate, high albumin level, and low C-reactive protein level were independent positive predictors of all-cause death. In this registry, SVS/ISCVS class IIa ALI was predominant. Approximately 40% of primary revascularization strategy was surgery and EVT, followed by hybrid therapy. Monitoring the content of toxic elements is one of the most important aspects to consider medicinal plants' safety before evaluating the pharmaceutical use. The aim of present study was to investigate the level of essential and toxic elements in the leaves, branches, and stem of Prosopis cineraria to assess its health risk. Samples were collected around Bandar Abbas, washed several times, and dried in air for 2 weeks. The dried samples were chopped with stainless steel knife to small pieces and powdered by electrical mortar. Some physical and chemical properties of samples were investigated by chemical methods. Samples were ashed by a programmable electric furnace at 650 °C for 6 h. Then samples were dissolved in 30% HNO3, and the content elements of each sample were determined by inductive coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES). The tests quality control and the measurement uncertainty were checked through the analysis of certified reference materials of SRM 1515 from NIST and solution standards. Correlation analysis of the obtained results showed a significant difference between leaves, branches, and stem of Prosopis cineraria so that the stem had the high essential and low toxic elements ones in comparison to other parts. The results revealed that the Prosopis cineraria stem is meeting health standards regarding the studied toxic metals.Aluminum is a potent neurotoxin used in animal models of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's disease (AD), in which oxidative stress mediates tissue pathogenesis in vivo. N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a glutathione precursor with reported antioxidant and neuroprotective potentials. Recent therapy for combating AD is known to provide only symptomatic relief thus necessitating the discovery of new drugs and their mechanism of action. This study was aimed to demonstrate the in vivo neuroprotective effect of NAC against aluminum (Al3+)-induced neuro-degeneration in rats (a model for AD). Twenty- five (25) adult male Wistar rats used for this study were divided into 5 groups Group A = Control, B = Aluminum chloride (200 mg/kg), C = 1000 mg/kg of NAC + Aluminum chloride (200 mg/kg), D = 1000 mg/kg of NAC, E = Aluminum chloride (200 mg/kg) was orally administered daily for 3 weeks and discontinued for one week.
