Protego
Protego adalah mantra perlindungan yang berfungsi melindungi duelist dengan cara menangkis serangan lawan. Cara pengucapan meliputi intonasi dalam merapalkan mantra yang berpengaruh untuk efek mantra itu sendiri. Masing-masing jenis pun ada yang berbeda pergerakan tongkatnya. Kalau pelafalannya tentu saja berbeda.
Pelafalan protego biasa: pro-TAY-goh (pelafalan ditekankan dimana ada huruf kapitalnya). Cahaya yang muncul berwarna biru transparan.
Pelafalan protego duo: pro-TAY-go DOO-oh
Cahaya yang muncul berwarna putih namun tidak lebih lebar dari cahaya biru milik protego biasa.
Pelafalan protego horribilis: pro-TAY-goh hor-i-BIL-luhs
Cahaya yang muncul berwarna transparan. Bentuknya seperti shield, semacam tameng untuk sang duelist. Cakupannya pun lebih luas. Dan hanya protego ini yang dapat menangkis sihir hitam.
