museum of bad arts / MoBA adalah museum yg bertujuan utk menghargai kerja dr seniman yg seninya tidak di hargai di forum lain
MoBA memiliki 2 cabang yaitu di Dedham dan somerville ( keduanya masih di dlm kawasan massachussets dan pusatnya di brookline)
koleksi permanen museum ini ada 500lukisan yg terlalu buruk utk dia abaikan
museum ini didirikan oleh scott wilson seorg kolektor barang antik pada tahun 1994
sejarah:
awalnya wilson menunjukan sebuah lukisan yg ia perbaiki dr tempat sampah kepada teman-temannya dan teman-temannya menyarankan agar wilson menyimpan lukisan tersebut
utk masuk ke dalam MoBA sebuah lukisan harus orisiniil dan memiliki niat yg serius, karya-karya nya harus tdk membosankan karena kurator tidakp tertarik utk menampilkan seni buruk dgn unsur kesengajaan
museum ini telah di kritik karna memiliki anti-seni tapi pendiri menolak dan mengatakan bahwa museum ini merupakan penghargaan kepada artis yg bertahan di seni walaupun mereka di tolak
kini MoBA di pimpin oleh jerry reilly dan marie jackson
karya-karya MoBA jg sudah mempengaruhi gaya lukisan modern di seluruh dunia
