The present study was conducted on the barites from a mine at Dongargaon in Central India. Morphological and structural analysis of proposed sample was carried out using X-ray diffraction and standard error of the mean. Thermal analysis and chemical composition of the proposed sample were carried out using thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis, and electron probe microanalysis. Thermoluminescence (TL) studies on a natural barite sample were performed using a Nucleonix TL1009I TL reader following sample irradiation with γ-rays generated from a 60 Co irradiation source. A broad TL glow curve was observed after TL study that was then deconvoluted using TLanal deconvolution software. Trapping parameters from the sample such as activation energy (E), order of kinetics (b), and frequency factor (s) were calculated using Chen's peak shape method, the initial rise method, and Ilich's method. The results indicated that the natural barite sample could be used in high-dose TL dosimetric applications in various fields.Varian (Palo Alto, California, United States) recently released an online adaptation treatment platform, Ethos, which has introduced a new Dose Preview and Automated Plan Generation module despite sharing identical beam data with the existing Halcyon linac. The module incorporates a preconfigured beam model and the Acuros XB algorithm (Ethos AXB model) to generate final dose calculations from an initial fluence optimization. In this study, we comprehensively validated the accuracy of the Ethos AXB model by comparing it against the Halcyon AXB model, the Halcyon Anisotropic Analytical Algorithm (AAA) model, and measurements acquired on an Ethos linac. Results indicated that the Ethos AXB model demonstrated a comparable if not superior dosimetric accuracy to the Halcyon AXB model in basic and complex calculations, and at the same time its dosimetric accuracy in modulated and heterogeneous plans was better than that of the Halcyon AAA model. Despite the fact that the same algorithm was utilized, the Ethos AXB model and the Halcyon AXB model still exhibited variations across a range of tests, although these variations were predominantly insignificant in the clinical environment. The accuracy of the Ethos AXB model has been successfully verified in this study and is considered appropriate for the current clinical scope. On the basis of this study, clinical physicists can perform a data validation instead of a full data commissioning when implementing the Ethos system, thereby adopting a more efficient approach for Ethos installation.In lung cancer, CD133+ cells represent the subset of cancer stem cells (CSC) able to sustain tumor growth and metastatic dissemination. We demonstrate that culturing of tumor cells on collagen determines a glycosylation-dependent positive selection of CSC and triggers their expansion/generation. The functional relevance of CD133+ CSC increase was validated in vivo, proving an augmented tumorigenic and metastatic potential. High expression of integrin β1 in its active form is associated with an increased proficiency of tumor cells to sense signaling from glycosylated matrices (glyco-collagen) and to acquire stemness features. Accordingly, inhibition of integrin β1 in tumor cells prevents CSC enrichment, suggesting that binding of integrin β1 to Glc-collagen subtends CSC expansion/generation. We provide evidence suggesting that collagen glycosylation could play an essential role in modulating the creation of a niche favorable for the generation and selection/survival of lung CSC. Interfering with this crosstalk may represent an innovative therapeutic strategy for lung cancer treatment.The purpose of this meta-analysis was to investigate the immediate and long-term effects of intervention for children with primary speech and language delays/disorders and to explore whether some characteristics of interventions, specifics of the study and research participants moderate the magnitude of the effectiveness of interventions. Using the random effect model, we pooled the effect size and conducted a publication bias evaluation, a moderating effect analysis in CMA 2.0. Results of a random effects model analysis demonstrated a moderate immediate effect (g = 0.70), whereas the long-term efficacy was small (g = 0.23). We aimed to evaluate the effects of disease severity on QOL in psoriasis patients living in our region. Fifty-nine female and 41 male patients diagnosed with psoriasis were included in the study. The Psoriasis Area Severity Index (PASI) was used to determine disease severity. The Psoriasis Quality of Life Questionnaire (PQLQ) was used to evaluate QOL. The mean PASI score was 14.3 ± 10.1. The PQLQ and subscale scores were not affected by age, marital status, educational status, or age at onset of the disease etc. parameters (P > .05). Additional drug use, joint involvement, and lesion site exposure were found to increase psychosocial negativity scores significantly (P  less then  .05). The mean scores for difficulties in daily life and treatment problems were significantly higher in men than in women (P  less then  .05). There was a positive correlation between PASI scores and PQLQ, PQLQ subgroup scores.
