World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a group. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of their base. While this is usually beneficial, it can have some negative effects as well. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to improve their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts increase their strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading and their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit 3 times less often, since it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which makes it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the more health you can gain from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in cold environments with a lot of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to survive a battle with your friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to allow you to get around a few monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five kinds of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. Additionally the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.
Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be earned by making them on a craft table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP total.
When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you make use of it again or break the bottle within the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanics of potions. For instance, splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item). The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be mixed in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the liquid and replenishes the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potions is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't essential as a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. equipment enhancement , unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the previous one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be upgraded once they are no longer needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded among players and are a viable alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that they won't replace soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players and they want to upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
