What do you think your advisor should know about you?

I think my advisor should know that I'm a broad minded person and that I am very open to different topics outside of my big interest in the sciences. I'm a really friendly guy and I love conversing about topics with people who share similar interests.
What are your favorite ways to spend time?

I enjoy socializing with friends and staying active. I also enjoy drawing, playing video games with friends, and reading up about topics that interest me or grab my attention.
In what ways do you hope your advisor can help you?

I hope my advisor can guide me to pick classes in my field of interest that help broaden my knowledge to better prepare me to choose a thesis topic. I'd also hope that my advisor could point me towards classes outside of my major that I would find very interesting and engaging.
Take a moment to write about an "aha!" moment that you've experienced in the classroom; a point at which a discussion, assignment, or independent project led you to an unexpected insight or revelation.

What are your principal academic interests at this time? (include any possible majors, subjects you might like to study, etc.)

I've always had an interest in sciences and I think this really became apparent after I took Intro to Lab Sciences with the Duke TIP Program. My main interest would have to be with genetics and microbiology, however.
