Systematic review registration INPLASY202040107.Background Although previous studies have reported the effectiveness of acupuncture combined mecobalamin (AM) in the treatment of elderly diabetic peripheral neuropathy (EDPN), no systematic study has assessed its effectiveness and safety. Thus, this study will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of AM for the treatment of patients with EDPN. Methods Bibliographic electronic databases will be searched as follows Cochrane Library, PUBMED, EMBASE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, WANGFANG, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure. All of them will be searched from each database initial to March 1, 2020 without language restrictions. All study selection, information extracted, and study quality evaluation will be performed by 2 independent authors. Any disagreements between 2 authors will be resolved by a third author via discussion. RevMan 5.3 software will be used for data pooling and meta-analysis performance if it is possible. Results This study will provide synthesis of current evidence of AM for patients with EDPN through primary outcome of glycemic profile, and secondary of neuropathic pain intensity, plantar tactile sensitivity, sensory nerve conduction velocity and motor nerve conduction velocity, health-related quality of life, and adverse events. Conclusion This study will provide helpful reference for the efficacy and safety of AM for the treatment of patients with EDPN to the clinicians and further studies.Study registration number INPLASY202040094.Background Bimatoprost has been reported to treat primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) effectively. However, up-to-date, no systematic review has specifically addressed the efficacy and safety of bimatoprost for the treatment of POAG. Therefore, this study will propose to appraise the efficacy and safety of bimatoprost for the treatment of POAG. Methods We will perform a systematic search in MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHI, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Allied and Complementary Medicine Database, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure from inception up to the March 1, 2020. We will include randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for evaluating the efficacy and safety of bimatoprost for the treatment of POAG. Primary outcome is the mean intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction from baseline to the endpoint, and change in best corrected visual acuity. Secondary outcomes are contrast sensitivity, rate of progression of glaucoma, quality of life, and incidence of adverse events. Study quality will be examined by Cochrane Collaboration tool, and strength of evidence will be evaluated by Grading of Recommendations Assessment Development and Evaluation tool. Results This proposed study will outline the current RCTs to assess the efficacy and safety of bimatoprost for the treatment of POAG. Conclusion The findings of this study will confirm whether bimatoprost is beneficial to patients with POAG. selleck inhibitor Systematic review registration INPLASY202040118.Background This study will appraise the effect and safety of advanced nursing care (ANC) on psychological condition (PC) in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods The following databases will be sought from the beginning up to the February 29, 2020 MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Scopus, the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, the Allied and Complementary Medicine Database, the Chinese Scientific Journal Database, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure. There are not language and publication status limitations related to any electronic databases. In addition, we will also identify conference proceedings, reference lists of included studies, and websites of clinical trials registry. Two reviewers will separately carry out study selection, data extraction, and study quality evaluation. Any inconsistencies will be solved by a third reviewer through discussion. RevMan 5.3 software will be utilized to carry out statistical analysis. Results This study will comprehensively summarize all potential evidence to systematically address the effects and safety of ANC on PC in patients with CHF. Conclusion The findings of the present study will help to determine whether ANC is effective or not on PC in patients with CHF. Study registration number INPLASY202040077.Background In recent years, there has been considerable uncertainty about the optimal treatment option for very early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with tumor size less than 2 cm. Therefore, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the outcomes of the different treatments. Methods This study was designed in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis (PRISMA). PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane library were searched for calculating the survival rates, and the "time to event" method was used to compare the outcomes of liver resection (LR) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA). All studies focusing on the treatment of solitary HCC up to 2 cm by different techniques were included in our analysis. The Hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) derived from multivariate and univariate analysis were utilized to assess the treatment risks. Results We included 32 studies in our systematic review. The median 5-year overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival rate (RFS) for LR were 73% and 47%, respectively, and those for RFA were 73% and 43%, respectively. RFA was found to be associated with increased risk of mortality and recurrence compared to LR (HR = 1.61, 95% CI 1.35-1.92, P less then .0001 for OS and HR = 1.75, 95% CI 1.56-1.96, P less then .0001 for RFS). Conclusion Our meta-analysis demonstrated that LR is superior to RFA in the treatment of solitary HCC up to 2 cm, with reduction in mortality and recurrence risk and improved long-term outcome. Background Drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) is a very tricky disorder, which greatly affects quality of life in such patients. Relevant studies suggested that vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has potential benefits for DRE. However, there are inconsistent conclusions. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether VNS is effective and safety for DRE. Methods To collect comprehensive randomized controlled trials (RCTs), the following electronic databases will be retrieved MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, PsycINFO, CINAHL, AMED, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure from the commencement of each electronic database up to the present with no language restrictions. Two authors will independently carry out all procedures of literature selection, information collection, and risk of bias assessment. Any objections will be worked out by a third author through consultation. The risk of bias for each included trial will be identified using Cochrane risk of bias tool, and statistical analysis will be performed utilizing RevMan 5.
