How To Resolve Issues With Item Upgrader

Upgrades to items can be used to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats improve in value. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high dependent on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear, since PvP is limited at a lower level. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

The level of an item can help players compare the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it is capable of causing. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the level of the item.

On PC, you are able to see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets increase the value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

It's not the only thing that affects the value of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped can change its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn boosted by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.


Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all shapes and sizes. Affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down the cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting an additional name to the item.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

Players can choose to upgrade an item to specific stats, or reroll affixes. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the specified range, unless it is an item that is unique or a God roll from a boss of a raid.

This is another thing that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. As with the base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It provides players with an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous in early game runs since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. item enhancement system is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items are available in the shop, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item in the event that it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much success rates can be increased and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..

The success of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of the item. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
