Fine-needle aspiration biopsy/FCM (FNAB/FCM) could be a useful tool for verifying FL diagnosis and CD10 detection. Despite its heterogeneity, FL has a characteristic immunophenotype. BCL2R and BCL6R FL cases differ mainly in levels of BCL2 and CD10 with CD43 co-expression; BCL2(+)higher by FCM correlates with BCL2R. Moreover, FNAB plays an important role in material provision for supportive karyotyping and BCL2R, BCL6R assessed by FISH. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.The aim of the study was to describe the epidemiological factors associated with the risks of recent Rickettsia exposure in inhabitants of a rural population from Yucatán, Mexico. The study included 130 inhabitants from Maxcanú, Yucatán. Blood samples were collected to detect IgM and IgG antibodies against Rickettsia typhi and Rickettsia rickettsii by an indirect immunofluorescence antibody test. Additionally, nested polymerase chain reaction was performed to amplify fragments of the 17kDa and sca5 genes. Previously, an epidemiological questionnaire was applied focused on collecting information on personal and housing exposure variables related to the recent infection with Rickettsia to determine epidemiological associations. Results that exhibited a p-value less then .25 were included in a generalized multinomial logistic linear model to determine the variables involved with the risk of contact or Rickettsia infection. In all, 76% (99/130) of the participants presented with immunoglobulin titres against the Rickettsia species evaluated, while rickettsial DNA was detected in 35.4% (46/130) of the participants. The association analysis with the personal exposure variables showed that the productive age group (OR = 0.32; 95% CI = 0.10-1.03) and the elders group (OR = 0.12; 95% CI = 0.01-0.83) were protective factors for recent infection with R. typhi, taking as reference the school group. The presence of a family orchard in the home (OR = 7.56; 95% CI = 1.62-35.29) was a risk factor for recent infection with R. rickettsii. Presumably, the presence of ectoparasites (OR = 2.71; 95% CI = 0.90-8.09) at home was a risk factor for recent infection with both Rickettsia species. This study assessed the policies, attitudes and practices of LGs in Victoria, Australia, relating to obesity prevention and the provision of healthy food in their sporting facilities. METHODS An online survey was e-mailed to all Victorian LGs (n=79) in July 2018. Questions assessed LGs' healthy food policies relating to sport and recreation facilities and the priority LGs give to obesity prevention. RESULTS Forty-nine LGs (62%) completed the survey from July to November 2018. Obesity prevention and promotion of healthy food and drink were a moderate to high priority for councils. The priority LGs give to healthy food promotion was reported to have increased over the previous year in 55% of LGs. Those LGs in areas of higher socioeconomic position and located in major cities had made more healthy changes at their facilities. CONCLUSION Obesity prevention is a priority for LGs, and they are making changes to improve the food environments in their sporting facilities. Greater support may be required for smaller LGs and those in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas to create healthier food environments. Implications for public health Monitoring changes to healthy eating policies within council facilities is essential to understand how local government actions are contributing to obesity prevention. © 2020 The Authors.Acidosis, a common feature of cerebral ischaemia and hypoxia, plays a key role in these pathological processes by aggravating the ischaemic and hypoxic injuries. To explore the mechanisms, in this research, we cultured primary neurons in an acidic environment (potential of hydrogen [pH]6.2, 24 hours) to mimic the acidosis. By proteomic analysis, 69 differentially expressed proteins in the acidic neurons were found, mainly related to stress and cell death, synaptic plasticity and gene transcription. And, the acidotic neurons developed obvious alterations including increased neuronal death, reduced dendritic length and complexity, reduced synaptic proteins, tau hyperphosphorylation, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress activation, abnormal lysosome-related signals, imbalanced oxidative stress/anti-oxidative stress and decreased Golgi matrix proteins. Then, melatonin (1 × 10-4 mol/L) was used to pre-treat the cultured primary neurons before acidic treatment (pH6.2). The results showed that melatonin partially reversed the acidosis-induced neuronal death, abnormal dendritic complexity, reductions of synaptic proteins, tau hyperphosphorylation and imbalance of kinase/phosphatase. In addition, acidosis related the activations of glycogen synthase kinase-3β and nuclear factor-κB signals, ER stress and Golgi stress, and the abnormal autophagy-lysosome signals were completely reversed by melatonin. These data indicate that melatonin is beneficial for neurons against acidosis-induced injuries. © 2020 The Authors.
