Anjing Golden Retriever
Anjing Golden Retriever adalah anjing dengan ukuran menengah besar, merupakan anjing yang menyenanhkan, bersahabat dan cerdas, juga mudah dilatih. Mereka memiliki sifat setia dan percaya diri.
Anjing ini memang tidak suka menyerang tetapi mereka dapat menjadi pengawas yang baik. Beberapa bakat anjing golden retriever adalah berburu, pelacakan, pengambilan, pendeteksian narkotika, juga anjing ini dapat berenang.
Ciri-ciri Anjing Golden Retriever :
- tinggi ; jantan 22-24 inci (56-61cm), betina 20-22 inci (51-56cm). berat ; jantan 27-36kg, betina 25-32kg.
- usia : sekitar 10-12tahun
- memiliki tengkorak yg luas dan moncong yg lurus
- hidung berwarna hitam atau hitam kecoklatan
- ekor tebal
- bulu yang anti air
Tetapi anjing ini rentan terhadap penyakit kanker, hip dysplasian, penyakit von willebrand, jantung dan cacat mata bawaan. Anjing ini juga sering terkena alergi dan mudah obesitas ( berat badan naik/berlebihan ). Untuk tempat tinggal, Golden Retriever lebih cocok di halaman indoor daripada outdoor.

Perbedaan tipe Amerika dan tipe Inggris ; tipe Amerika sedikit lebih pendek, gemuk dan lebih kurus. Bulunya lebih berwarna cream atau coklat. Matanya lebih kecil. Sedangkan tipe Inggris bulunya putih, pendek dan cenderung keriting, bermata besar.
