The most effective and potential approach to improve the performance of heterojunction photodetectors is to obtain favorable interfacial passivation by adding an insertion layer. In this paper, MoOx/Al2O3/n-Si heterojunction photodetectors with excellent photocurrents, responsivity and detectivity were fabricated, in which alumina acts as a tunneling passivation layer. By optimizing the post-annealing treatment temperature of the MoOxand the thickness of the ultra-thin Al2O3, the photodetector achieved a ratio of photocurrent to dark current of 3.1 × 105, a photoresponsivity of 7.11 A W-1(@980 nm) and a detective of 9.85 × 1012Jones at -5 V bias. Besides, a self-driven response of 0.17 A W-1and a high photocurrent/dark current ratio of 2.07 × 104were obtained. The result demonstrated that optimizing the interface of heterojunctions is a promising way to obtain a heterojunction photodetector with high-performance.Developing a cost-effective and efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst with simple synthesis strategy for hydrazine sensing and H evolution reaction (HER) is of utmost importance. Herein, a three-dimensional porous Cu-doped metallic Ni coating on Ti mesh (Ni(Cu) coating/TM) was successfully electrodeposited by a facile electrochemical method. Electrochemical etching of the electrodeposited Ni(Cu) coating with metallic Ni and Cu mixed phase on a Ti mesh contributed to the formation of a three-dimensional porous Cu-doped metallic Ni coating. Owing to the large specific surface area and enhanced electroconductivity caused by the porous structure and Cu doping, respectively, the developed Ni(Cu) coating/TM exhibited superior hydrazine sensing performance and electrocatalytic activity toward hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The Ni(Cu) coating/TM electrode presented a good sensitivity of 3909μA mM-1cm-2and two relatively broad linear ranges from 0.004 mM to 2.915 mM and from 2.915 mM to 5.691 mM as well as a low detection limit of 1.90μM. In addition, the Ni(Cu) coating/TM required a relatively low HER overpotential of 140 mV to reach -10 mA cm-2and exhibited robust durability in alkaline solution. The excellent hydrazine electrooxidation and HER performance guarantee its promising application in hydrazine detection and energy conversion. We visualized a region of a spatial electric charge in a corona-poled soda-lime glass using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The SEM image obtained perfectly coincides with a numerically calculated distribution of the spatial charge in the structure. Compositional depth profiles of the glass were characterized with energy dispersive x-ray (EDX) analysis. The measurements showed that K+ions, the total concentration of which in pristine glass is practically negligible, pile-up significantly just beside a backfront of fast Na+ions, and their peak concentration exceeds initial K+content by about 15 times. This is in a good agreement with an analytical model recently presented by Oven. However, diffusion smearing of the spatial charge distribution and the poling profiles turns out to be much larger than the theory predicts.Considering the complementarity of mammography and breast MRI, the research of feature fusion diagnosis based on cross-modality images was explored to improve the accuracy of breast cancer diagnosis. selleck chemicals llc 201 patients with both mammography and breast MRI were collected retrospectively, including 117 cases of benign lesions and 84 cases of malignant ones. Two feature optimization strategies of sequential floating forward selection (SFFS), SFFS-1 and SFFS-2, were defined based on the sequential floating forward selection method. Each strategy was used to analyze the diagnostic performance of single-modality images and then to study the feature fusion diagnosis of cross-modality images. Three feature fusion approaches were compared optimizing MRI features and then fusing those of mammography; optimizing mammography features and then fusing those of MRI; selecting the effective features from the whole feature set (mammography and MRI). Support vector machine, Naive Bayes, and K-nearest neighbor were employed as the classifiers and were finally integrated to get better performance. The average accuracy and area under the ROC curve (AUC) of MRI (88.56%, 0.9 for SFFS-1, 88.39%, 0.89 for SFFS-2) were better than mammography (84.25%, 0.84 for SFFS-1, 80.43%, 0.80 for SFFS-2). Furthermore, compared with a single modality, the average accuracy and AUC of cross-modality feature fusion can improve from 85.40% and 0.86 to 89.66% and 0.91. Classifier integration improved the accuracy and AUC from 90.49%, 0.92 to 92.37%, and 0.97. Cross-modality image feature fusion can achieve better diagnosis performance than a single modality. Feature selection strategy SFFS-1 has better efficiency than SFFS-2. Classifier integration can further improve diagnostic accuracy.Cr5Te8is a half metal with 2D van der Waals ferromagnetic structure and its magnetic properties can be tuned by changing the proportionality of Cr and Te. We report an investigation of magnetization and magnetic anisotropy near the critical transition region of a Cr5-yTe8single crystal with the static and dynamic probes, to unravel the nature of field-dependent spin-spin interactions. The magnetic transition temperatureTCincreasing from 255 K (at near zero-field) to 279 K (at 65 kOe along theab-plane) has been identified. Accordingly, a phase diagram of field versus transition temperature has been established. From the analysis of the field dependence of the critical behavior, we provided evidence that the scenario of 2D Heisenberg-type interactions can be employed to interpret the field-dependent magnetic transitions in Te-rich Cr4.8Te8. The precise picture for the field-reduced spin-spin interaction range has been obtained. The conclusion drawn from the present study demonstrated that Cr4.8Te8is a promising candidate for the spintronic applications with a tunable magnetic transition temperature. We investigate the influence of smooth and ribletted shark skin on a turbulent boundary layer flow. Through laser Doppler anemometry (LDA) the role of riblets in combination with the shark skin denticle is established for the first time. Our results show that smooth denticles behave like a typical rough surface when exposed to an attached boundary layer. Drag is increased for the full range of tested dimensionless denticle widths,w+≈ 25-80, wherew+is the denticle width,w, scaled by the friction velocity,uτ, and the kinematic viscosity,ν. However, when riblets are added to the denticle crown we demonstrate there is a significant reduction in drag, relative to the smooth denticles. We obtain a modest maximum drag reduction of 2% for the ribletted denticles when compared to the flat plate, but when compared to the smooth denticles the difference in drag is in excess of 20% forw+≈ 80. This study enables a new conclusion that riblets have evolved as a mechanism to reduce or eliminate the skin friction increase due to the presence of scales (denticles).
