We respectfully disagree with all your reductions. Mapfre’s licensed appraiser physically inspected the vehicle and prepared the estimate based on industry standards. The disputed charges are necessary procedural steps in the repair process and can be justified with the estimate itself. The paint and materials allowance is fair, reasonable, and within industry standards, and was properly negotiated and agreed upon with the shop. Mapfre is not required to produce an invoice or photos for each individual item, as the damages and related operations were documented during the physical inspection by a licensed appraiser. Additionally, a reasonable search was conducted for alternate parts, and the parts selected were based on availability, condition, and appropriateness at the time of repair. Pre- and post-repair scans were appropriate and necessary given the vehicle’s modern safety systems and are widely accepted across the industry. All operations included in the estimate were deemed necessary to restore the vehicle to its pre-loss condition. However, in good faith of settlement, we are willing to accept a $100 reduction.
