This selectivity is confirmed by the efficient recovery of REEs from acidic leachates of gibbsite ore. After elution (using 0.5 M HCl solutions), selective precipitation (using oxalate solutions), and calcination, pure rare earth oxides were obtained. The sorbent shows promising perspective due to its high and fast sorption properties for REEs, good recycling, and high selectivity. This research aimed to explore the interplay of sexism and moral disengagement (MD) in the explanation of psychological and physical dating aggression. The sample comprised 1113 Spanish adolescents (49.2% girls, n = 552) between the ages of 12 to 17 (M = 14.44). Asciminib manufacturer A latent profile analysis conducted with sub-sample of 432 adolescents with sentimental experience identified four configurations (1) benevolent; (2) less disengaged and sexist; (3) highly disengaged and sexist; and (4) moderately disengaged and sexist. Regarding gender and age, boys were more present than girls in the moderately disengaged and sexist group, as well as in the highly disengaged and sexist profile. The highly disengaged and sexist and benevolent groups were the youngest. Regarding dating aggression, the highly disengaged and sexist group had the highest engagement in physical and psychological aggression. However, the others three profiles showed a similar engagement in aggression. These findings confirmed the moderating role of MD on the relationship between sexism and dating aggression and suggested that the association between MD, sexism, and dating aggression was exponential; that is, the risk appeared when adolescents were extremely hostile and disengaged. The results have implications for the design of tailored dating aggression prevention programmes.Tonsillectomy is a routine surgery in otorhinolaryngology and the occurrence of postoperative bleeding is not a rare complication. The aim of this retrospective, observational, analytic, cohort study is to compare the incidence of this complication for the most common indications. A group of patients indicated for tonsillectomies for peritonsillar abscess (group I) was compared to a group of patients indicated for chronic and recurrent tonsillitis (group II). There are a lot of pathophysiological differences in patients indicated for acute tonsillectomy for peritonsillar abscess and in patients indicated for elective tonsillectomy for chronic or recurrent tonsillitis. No technique to minimize the risk of bleeding after tonsillectomy has been found and a large part of postoperative bleeding occurs in postoperative home-care, which makes this issue topical. In total, 2842 unilateral tonsillectomies from the years 2014-2019 were included in the study. Bleeding occurred in 10.03% and, surprisingly, despite completely different conditions in the field of surgery (oedema, acute inflammation in peritonsillar abscess), there was no statistically significant difference between incidence of postoperative bleeding in the studied groups (p = 0.9920). The highest incidence of bleeding was found in the patients of group I on the eighth postoperative day, with those aged 20-24 years (p = 0.0235) being the most at risk, and in group II, on the sixth postoperative day, with those aged 25-29 years (p = 0.0128) and 45-49 years (p = 0.0249) being the most at risk. The prediction of the aqueous pKa of carbon acids by Quantitative Structure Property Relationship or cheminformatics-based methods is a rather arduous problem. Primarily, there are insufficient high-quality experimental data points measured in homogeneous conditions to allow for a good global model to be generated. In our computationally efficient pKa prediction method, we generate an atom-type feature vector, called a distance spectrum, from the assigned ionisation atom, and learn coefficients for those atom-types that show the impact each atom-type has on the pKa of the ionisable centre. In the current work, we augment our dataset with pKa values from a series of high performing local models derived from the Ab Initio Bond Lengths method (AIBL). We find that, in distilling the knowledge available from multiple models into one general model, the prediction error for an external test set is reduced compared to that using literature experimental data alone. The efficacy of preoperative imaging for acral melanoma (AM) has not been fully evaluated. We examined the accuracy of imaging modalities in the detection of nodal and distant metastases in patients with AM. A retrospective review of 109 patients with AM was performed. All patients had no clinical signs suggestive of distant metastases, and underwent preoperative screening computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography (PET)/CT scans. Of 100 patients without lymphadenopathy, 17 patients were suspected of having nodal metastasis in CT and PET/CT, but only two of them were confirmed on histopathological analysis. On the other hand, 12 out of 83 negatively imaged patients showed histopathological signs of nodal metastasis; thus, the sensitivity and specificity of nodal detection were 14.3% and 82.6%, respectively. Regard to the detection of distant metastases, four patients were suspected of having metastasis, but this was later ruled out. The remaining 96 negatively imaged patients were confirmed to have no metastasis at the time of CT and PET/CT by the follow-up. In contrast, distant metastases were found by CT and PET/CT in four of nine patients (44.4%) with lymphadenopathy. Routine preoperative CT and PET/CT for AM patients without lymphadenopathy may not be warranted because of low sensitivity and specificity, but it can be considered for those with lymphadenopathy.Intense solar radio bursts (SRBs) can increase the energy noise and positioning error of the bandwidth of global navigation satellite system (GNSS). The study of the interference from intense L-band SRBs is of great importance to the steady operation of GNSS receivers. Based on the fact that intense L-band SRBs lead to a decrease in the carrier-to-noise ratio (C/N0) of multiple GNSS satellites over a large area of the sunlit hemisphere, an intense L-band SRB detection method without the aid of a radio telescope is proposed. Firstly, the valley period of a single satellite at a single monitoring station is detected. Then, the detection of SRBs is achieved by calculating the intersection of multiple satellites and multiple stations. The experimental results indicate that the detection rates of GPS L2 and GLONASS G2 are better than those of GPS L1 L5, GLONASS G1, and Galileo E1 E5. The detection rate of SRBs can reach 80% with a flux density above 800 solar flux unit (SFU) at the L2 frequency of GPS. Overall, the detection rate is not affected by the satellite distribution relative to the Sun.
