43% lower (95% CI - 5.57 to - 1.23), and obese men were 12.9% lower (95% CI - 15.2 to - 10.7). Prostate cancer and advanced prostate cancer analyses showed little or no evidence associations. CONCLUSION There is little or no evidence of an association between BMI and risk of prostate cancer or advanced prostate cancer, and strong evidence of an inverse and non-linear association between BMI and PSA. The association between BMI and prostate cancer is likely biased if missed diagnoses are not considered. It is widely accepted that circular RNA (circRNA) plays an important role in cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, this experiment aimed to investigate the pathogenesis of circMACF1 in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). qRT-PCR and immunoblotting were used to detect the expression levels of circMACF1, miR-500b-5p, and epithelial membrane protein 1 (EMP1). The role of circMACF1, miR-500b-5p, and EMP1 in cardiomyocyte apoptosis was assessed using annexin V-FITC/PI. Echocardiographic assessment, serum creatine kinase MB (CK-MB) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), myocardial infarct size, and TUNEL staining were applied in our research. In the MI group, the expression levels of circMACF1 and EMP1 were decreased with the increasing expression level of miR-500b-5p. CircMACF1 upregulated the expression of EMP1 as a sponge of miR-500b-5p, and circMACF1 was a direct target of miR-500b-5p. CircMACF1 impaired the progression of AMI by modulating the miR-500b-5p/EMP1 axis. CircMACF1 may be a potential therapeutic target for treating AMI. Graphical Abstract CircMACF1 upregulated EMP1 expression by sponge miR-500b-5p.OBJECTIVE This descriptive study queries the attitudes of psychiatry residents regarding provision of practice habit data to trainees by residency programs, as required by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Identifying trainee perspectives may assist program directors in tailoring practice habit data reporting to better engage residents and to increase resident-reported adherence to the ACGME requirement. METHODS Residents at a large, hospital-based adult psychiatry training program completed an anonymous survey of attitudes regarding practice habit data, including perceptions of the residency program's current reporting, preferences toward mechanisms of delivering this data, and perceived relative utility of five hypothetical domains of practice habit data. RESULTS Of 61 eligible residents, 52 (85%) completed surveys. Only 29 (56%) recalled receiving prior-year individual practice habit data, and only 10 (19%) recalled receiving team-based data. Seventy-five percent desired more practice habit data. Out of five hypothetical thematic domains for practice habit reporting, residents preferred patient-oriented domains as opposed to process-oriented domains. Resident concerns about dissemination of these data included confidentiality, effect on evaluations, and difficulty translating data to changes in clinical practice. CONCLUSIONS Residents generally desire increased dissemination of practice habit data that focuses on patient-oriented measures such as adherence to disease-specific guidelines and is both individual and team-based. Residency programs may benefit their trainees and improve resident-reported adherence to the ACGME requirement both by taking resident preferences into account and by addressing concerns about confidentiality when providing practice habit data.OBJECTIVE This study assessed the impact of an online, self-directed learning module on medical student knowledge and attitudes regarding decision-making capacity. METHODS The authors created a 15-min didactic video on decision-making capacity and sorted medical students on the psychiatry clerkship to teaching as usual or teaching as usual plus watching the video. The authors assessed student knowledge about and attitudes toward decisional capacity assessment using a pre/posttest design. XL765 purchase RESULTS Thirty-eight students completed the study (24% of all psychiatry clerkship students in one academic year). Students who watched the video (n = 14) achieved higher scores on the posttest compared with students who did not watch the video (n = 24) (90% vs 84% on general knowledge and case examples), though this difference was small and not statistically significant. The degree of improvement from pretest to posttest was higher for students who watched the video but did not reach statistical significance. CONCLUSIONS Overall, students found the online teaching module to be a helpful augmentation strategy for learning decisional capacity assessment. The authors incorporated student feedback and additional review to create an enhanced video, which is available on ADMSEP's Clinical Simulation Initiative website.Treatment of Parkinson's disease with levodopa/carbidopa/entacapone (LCE) has been studied for a long time. However, the efficacy and safety of LCE in the treatment of early Parkinson's disease (PD) still need to be assessed. Our objective was to do a meta-analysis of relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of LCE for early PD. PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and the Web of Science were searched for RCTs with "levodopa/carbidopa/entacapone" and "Parkinson's disease" as keywords. The search period was from inception to October 2018. The quality of included studies was strictly evaluated. We evaluated the quality of included studies strictly and six studies met all inclusion criteria. The results showed that LCE could improve activities of daily living and motor function in PD patients. However, LCE therapy was associated with higher risks of total AEs and single AEs compared with traditional therapy.INTRODUCTION Late-Onset Pompe Disease (LOPD) is characterized by progressive limb-girdle muscle weakness and respiratory dysfunction. Diaphragm is the most impaired muscle in LOPD and its dysfunction cause major respiratory symptoms. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between diaphragm thickness and mobility assessed by ultrasonography and respiratory function and muscle strength tests in patients with LOPD. METHODS 17 patients with LOPD (9 female, 47 ± 15 years) and 17 age and gender-matched healthy controls underwent spirometry, muscle strength testing, and ultrasound evaluation of diaphragm excursion and thickness. RESULTS The following parameters were significantly reduced in LOPD patients versus controls (all p  less then  0.001) forced vital capacity (FVC) in seated and supine position, maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressure (MIP and MEP), diaphragm excursion, thickness at functional residual capacity (FRC) and total lung capacity (TLC), and thickness fraction (TF). Ultrasound studies of diaphragm thickness at FRC correlated with MIP (r = 0.
