Chopper Crisis Healthcare Assistance in Croatia: Any 2021 Update.
Conclusions/Importance This study revealed that many users are not responsibly using CBD products, many believe CBD products provide health benefits that are not yet scientifically proven, and they are not knowledgeable about legal and regulatory issues. Until CBD use is more thoroughly researched and has more comprehensive regulation, public health professionals should address alternative stress and anxiety treatment methods.Several international organizations have recently highlighted endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) as factors of concern in human reproduction. Since successful reproduction is dependent on timely and appropriate action of hormones, disruption of the endocrine system could lead to difficulties in conceiving or carrying a pregnancy to term. EDCs are chemicals that disrupt the endocrine system by activating or inhibiting receptors of the endocrine system, and/or altering hormone receptor expression; signal transduction; epigenetic marks; hormone synthesis, transport, distribution, and metabolism; and the fate of hormone-producing cells. Due to the increasing production of industrial chemicals over the past century and their lenient control, EDCs are now common contaminants in the environment. selleck Consequently, everyone faces a life-long exposure to mixtures of chemicals, some of which have been identified as EDCs. As birth rates in humans are declining and the use of assisted reproductive technologies increasing, it is timely to consider possible effects of EDCs on human reproduction and fertility. In this review, we focus on persistent EDCs, their occurrence in ovarian follicular fluid, and associations to treatment outcomes in assisted reproduction. Our summary shows that despite being banned decades ago, mixtures of persistent EDCs are still detected in the ovarian follicular fluid, demonstrating direct exposure of oocytes to these chemicals. In addition, there are several reported associations between exposure and worse outcome in in vitro fertilization. Further research is therefore warranted to prove causality, which will lead towards better regulation and exposure reduction. Objectives This quasi-experimental study assessed the effectiveness of two empathy enhancement programs on direct care workers of older adults living alone in South Korea. Methods A total of 104 direct care workers participated in either a simulation-based program or a lecture-based program. Data were collected prior to and 2 weeks after the program implementation using self-reported questionnaires. Results The lecture-based group had significantly higher levels of empathy compared to the simulation-based group. Pretest-posttest differences were found in the lecture-based group only, including higher levels of empathy and caring efficacy and lower levels of secondary traumatic stress and burnout. Conclusions More studies are needed to identify helpful components of empathy enhancement programs to direct care workers working with older adults living alone. Also, a further randomized controlled trial study is needed to assess programs' effectiveness on older adults living alone and direct care workers.Clinical implications A lecture-based empathy enhancement program can increase levels of empathy and caring efficacy of direct care workers working with older adults and decrease care workers' levels of burnout and stress. Training for direct care workers of older adults is needed to improve the empathy of direct care workers while reducing their stress and burnout. Background There is no specific evidence regarding the benefits of external and internal pancreatic duct stents after pancreaticoduodenectomy since pancreatic fistula (grade A) have been redefined with no clinical treatment effect. We aimed to reevaluate the prognostic value of external and internal stents in clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula over pancreaticoduodenectomy. Methods PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE and the Cochrane Database were specifically searched for pertinent and original articles published before May 2019. The project has been registered in PROSPERO (Registration number CRD42019137579).Results Four randomized controlled trials and six nonrandomized controlled trials with a total of 2101 patients were enrolled in this meta-analysis. The use of an external stent resulted in better performance than the use of an internal stent in terms of pancreatic fistula (grade C) (OR 0.58, P = 0.03) but did not reduce the rate of pancreatic fistula (grade B) (OR 0.99, P = 0.94) in all studies. The meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials found that the use of an external stent approached a level of significance for an increased rate of clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula compared to the use of an internal stent (OR 1.40, P = 0.10) but had no significant effect on pancreatic fistula (grade B) (OR 1.34, P = 0.26) or pancreatic fistula (grade C) (OR 1.68, P = 0.62).Conclusion Compared with internal stents, the use of external stent might be associated with a lower rate of pancreatic fistula (grade C). More randomized clinical trials are warranted to further explore safety and efficacy of pancreatic duct external stents.Aim Green graphene oxide (GO) nanoplates, which are reduced and stabilized by quercetin and guided by folate receptors (quercetin reduced and loaded GO nanoparticles-folic acid [FA]), were developed to mediate combined photo-chemo-thermal therapy of triple-negative breast cancer. Materials & methods Modified Hummers method was used for the synthesis of GO followed by its reduction using quercetin, FA was then conjugated as a targeting ligand. A cytotoxicity assay, apoptosis assay and cellular uptake assay were performed in vitro in MDA-MB-231 cell line with and without irradiation of a near-infrared 808 nm laser. Results & conclusion Quercetin reduced and loaded GO nanoparticles-FA showed significantly high cellular uptake (p less then 0.001) and cytotoxic effects in MDA-MB-231 cells, which was even more prominent under the situation of near-infrared 808 nm laser irradiation, making it a potential option for treating triple-negative breast cancer.
