CHAPTER 1 -Dream come true
The 2004 Grammys opened with Prince and a young singer named Beyonce singing a medley of his hits. Just a few minutes later, Beyonce won the first television award of the night for her contemporary R&B song "Dangerously in Love." Beyonce thanked those she left were most responsible for making her dreams come true
---her parents and God.

Grammy award
Later in the night, Beyonce stood stood in front of an elaborate framed tableau and sang her hit song "Dangerously in Love." At the end of the song, a dove landed on her outstretched hand. By the next day, everyone was talking about Beyonce. She had gone home with five awards that night, trying a record set by Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, and Lauryn Hill for the most Grammys won by a female artist.

Living the dream
The year that followed the Grammys was a busy one for Beyonce. In March, she went on tour with Alicia Keys and Missy Elliott for the Verizon Ladies First Tour (promoted by Clear Channel Entertainment). The months after the tour were packed with awards and appearences for Beyonce. She was on television numerous times, including Soul Train, Girls on the Top, The Wayne Brady Show, and multiple appearances on On Air with Ryan Seacrest. She won the British award for Best International Artist, the MTV Video Music Award for "Naughty Girl," the BET award for Best Female R&B Artist and Best Collaboration (for her song "Dangerously in Love"), the Radio Music Award for Artist of the Year, the people's Choice Award for Favorite Female Performer, TRL's First Lady Award, the Soul Train Music Award for Best Female R&B/Soul Album (for Dangerously in Love), the Sammy Davis Jr. Award for Female Entertainer of the Year, and the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) award for Entertainer of the Year.
