As expected, the awareness of water scarcity and perceptions of climate change had statistically significant effects on the water footprints, which was consistent with our hypothesis. Our approach helped participants develop capacity by revealing the linkage between their local level actions and the various aspects of adaptation to changing climate at the global level. This strategy will provide a comparative basis for water policy makers to adopt appropriate strategies to address matters related to water shortages and finally enhance sustainable adaptation to changing context.There are strong biologic and preclinical rationales for the development of therapeutic cancer vaccines; however, the clinical translation of this treatment strategy has been challenging. It is now understood that many previous clinical trials of cancer vaccines used target antigens or vaccine designs that inherently lacked sufficient immunogenicity to induce clinical responses. Despite the historical track record, breakthrough advances in cancer immunobiology and vaccine technologies have supported continued interest in therapeutic cancer vaccinations, with the hope that next-generation vaccine strategies will enable patients with cancer to develop long-lasting anti-tumor immunity. There has been substantial progress identifying antigens and vaccine vectors that lead to strong and broad T cell responses, tailoring vaccine designs to achieve optimal antigen presentation, and finding combination partners employing complementary mechanisms of action (e.g., checkpoint inhibitors) to overcome the diverse methods cancer cells use to evade and suppress the immune system. Results from randomized, phase 3 studies testing therapeutic cancer vaccines based on these advances are eagerly awaited. Here, we summarize the successes and failures in the clinical development of cancer vaccines, address how this historical experience and advances in science and technology have shaped efforts to improve vaccines, and offer a clinical perspective on the future role of vaccine therapies for cancer.
To evaluate the usefulness of soleal vein (SOV) diameter as a predictor of new onset of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in acute stroke patients.

A total of 121 acute stroke patients who were admitted within 48h of onset underwent a calf vein ultrasonography (CVUS) examination within 7days after hospitalization. They were evaluated for the presence of DVT and risk factors including maximum SOV diameter. Next, the patients in whom DVT was not detected at the first CVUS examination underwent a second CVUS examination on the 21st hospital day, and were evaluated for the presence of new DVT.

DVT was detected in 27 of 121 patients at the first CVUS examination. A significant association was noted between the presence of DVT and higher levels of soluble fibrin monomer, D-dimer, and C-reactive protein, and a higher rate of having cancer concomitantly. Furthermore, 50 of 94 patients without DVT at the first CVUS examination underwent a second CVUS examination. CDK2IN73 Of the 94 patients, 44 were excluded, because they were discharged by the 21st day. Note that DVT was newly developed in 12 of the 50 patients who underwent the second CVUS. A significant association was found between the presence of new DVT and the rate of history of stroke, hematocrit level, and maximum SOV diameter at the first examination.

Assessment of the musculoskeletal system requires consideration of its integrated function with the nervous system. This may be assisted by using valid and reliable methods that simulate real-life situations. Interactive virtual reality (VR) technology may introduce various auditory and visual inputs that mimic real-life scenarios. However, evidence supporting the quality and strength of evidence regarding the adequacy of its psychometric properties in assessing the musculoskeletal function has not been evaluated yet. Therefore, this study reviewed the validity and reliability of VR games and real-time feedback in assessing the musculoskeletal system.

Nine studies were included in quality assessment. Based on outcome measures, studies were categorized into range of motion (ROM), balance, reaction time, and cervical motion velocity and accuracy. The majority of the studies were of moderate quality and provided evidence of VR adequate concurrent and, in some cases, known-groups validity. Also, VR showed higinteractive VR using games or real-time feedback is highly valid and reliable in assessing ROM in asymptomatic participants and patients with chronic neck pain and radial fracture. For the remaining outcomes, evidence is limited to draw a robust conclusion. Future studies are recommended to test VR psychometric properties in different patients' population using a rigor research methodology.
Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare mesenchymal tumor with an intermediate tendency to metastasize. Meningeal hemangiopericytoma (HPC), arising in the meningeal membranes, also is considered an SFT. Although SFT is assumed to show an unpredictable behavior, the authors defined some factors associated with its aggressive behavior.

This retrospective study was based on the medical records of 81 SFT patients treated surgically, with the median follow-up period of 59 months. The patients were assigned to three histopathologic groups based on the 2016 WHO classification group 1 (SFT, 29 patients), group 2 (cellular SFT/hemangiopericytoma [HPC], 27 patients), and group 3 (malignant SFT/anaplastic HPC, 25 patients).

The SFT histopathologic classification was associated with distant metastasis (DM) (p = 0.007). The multivariate analysis showed that cellular SFT had an independent impact on DM (odds ratio [OR] = 25.42; p = 0.006).
