INTRODUCTION Differences in conduction times from right ventricle to left ventricle and from left ventricle to right ventricle respectively were observed during biventricular devices implantation when changing pacing vector direction. In this article the phenomenon of interventricular conduction time differences is described and assessed in relationship to various clinical and electrophysiological parameters. METHODS In 62 consecutive patients (9 females) interventricular conduction times between right and left ventricle in both directions were measured during cardiac resynchronization therapy device implantation procedure. Complex pacing protocol was performed. RESULTS Investigated individuals was divided into 3 subgroups according to type of interventricular conduction pattern and statistically tested with various clinical data. Substantial differences in right-to-left vs left-to-right conduction times (> 5 ms, range 7-72 ms) were observed in 24 (39%) of all patients. They were more common in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (20 of 38, 53%) compared to 4 (17%) of 24 patients with coronary artery disease (p = 0.011). The phenomenon occurred more often in hypertensive patients (p = 0.012). Other tested factors were nonsignificant. CONCLUSIONS There are almost no data on this topic. The occurrence of conduction difference phenomenon is quite common in dilated cardiomyopathy while it is rare in coronary artery disease. We assume the diffuse nature of the disease and the way of remodeling of myocardium play the main role. Knowledge of this phenomenon could be useful in personalized cardiac resynchronization therapy optimization.Knowledge on the possible sources of human leptospirosis, other than rats, is currently lacking. To assess the distribution pattern of exposure and infection by Leptospira serogroups in the two main semi-aquatic rodents of Western France, coypus (Myocastor coypus) and muskrats (Ondatra zibethicus), results of micro-agglutination testing and renal tissue PCR were used. Immunology agonist In coypus, the apparent prevalence was 11% (n = 524, CI95% = [9% - 14%]), seroprevalence was 42% (n = 590, CI95% = [38% - 46%]), and the predominant serogroup was Australis (84%). In muskrats, the apparent prevalence was 33% (n = 274, CI95% = [27% - 39%]), seroprevalence was 57% (n = 305, CI95% = [52% - 63%]), and the predominant serogroup was Grippotyphosa (47%). Muskrats should therefore be considered an important source of Grippotyphosa infection in humans and domestic animals exposed in this part of France. The abundant faunal remains from the Takarkori rock shelter in the Tadrart Acacus region of southwestern Libya are described. The material that covers the period between 10,200 to 4650 years cal BP illustrates the more humid environmental conditions in the Central Sahara during early and middle Holocene times. Particular attention is focussed on the aquatic fauna that shows marked diachronic changes related to increasing aridification. This is reflected in the decreasing amount of fish remains compared to mammals and, within the fish fauna, by changes through time in the proportion of the species and by a reduction of fish size. The aquatic fauna can, in addition, be used to formulate hypotheses about the former palaeohydrographical network. This is done by considering the possible location of pre-Holocene relic populations combined with observations on the topography and palaeohydrological settings of the Central Sahara. The brain works as a large-scale complex network, known as the connectome. The strength of the connections between two brain regions in the connectome is commonly estimated by calculating the correlations between their patterns of activation. This approach relies on the assumption that the activation of connected regions occurs together and at the same time. However, there are delays between the activation of connected regions due to excitatory and inhibitory connections. Here, we propose a method to harvest this additional information and reconstruct the structural brain connectome using delayed correlations. This delayed-correlation method correctly identifies 70% to 80% of connections of simulated brain networks, compared to only 5% to 25% of connections detected by the standard methods; this result is robust against changes in the network parameters (small-worldness, excitatory vs. inhibitory connection ratio, weight distribution) and network activation dynamics. The delayed-correlation method predicts more accurately both the global network properties (characteristic path length, global efficiency, clustering coefficient, transitivity) and the nodal network properties (nodal degree, nodal clustering, nodal global efficiency), particularly at lower network densities. We obtain similar results in networks derived from animal and human data. These results suggest that the use of delayed correlations improves the reconstruction of the structural brain connectome and open new possibilities for the analysis of the brain connectome, as well as for other types of networks.Salamanders (Caudata) are one of the three modern groups of amphibians known from the Middle Jurassic. The early stages of evolution of these amphibians are still poorly known, especially for stem taxa of Jurassic age. A new small-sized stem salamander, Egoria malashichevi gen. et sp. nov., from the Middle Jurassic (Bathonian) Itat Formation of the Berezovsk Quarry locality in Western Siberia, Russia, is described on the basis of isolated vertebrae, including an atlas centrum and a fragmentary trunk vertebra centrum previously referred to an undescribed salamander taxon ("Berezovsk salamander A"). The new taxon is diagnosed by the following unique combination of vertebral characters atlantal anterior cotyles with elliptical anterior outline, located at an angle of approximately 135-137 degrees to each other; wide posterior portion of the atlantal centrum; ossified portion of the intercotylar tubercle represented by dorsal and ventral lips; absence of a deep depression on the ventral surface of the atlantal ceers. Our objective was to quantify the impact on the use of zolpidem of the obligation implemented in France in 2017 to use secure prescription pads to prescribe it. We conducted a cohort study within the French SNDS healthcare database. Patients aged over 18 years of age were considered for inclusion. The number of prevalent users and incident episodes of zolpidem use were compared before the change in law (July 1, 2016 to January 1, 2017) and after (July 1, 2017 to January 1, 2018). A prevalent user was a patient who has been reimbursed for zolpidem at least once. An incident episode of zolpidem use was defined by a first administration of zolpidem without any prior administration within the previous six months. Regarding prevalence of zolpidem users, we observed a decrease from 2.79% (CI95%2.75-2.83) to 1.48% (1.44-1.51), with a number of patients who stopped taking it after the change in law being approximately 4.3 times higher than the number of patients who started. We observed a negative association between the post-law change period (OR = 0.
