Cardioprotective and also Vasoprotective Effects of Corticotropin-Releasing Hormonal and also Urocortins: Receptors along with Signaling.
Only 24 patients (13.6%) had documented subsequent pregnancies and 6 (22.2%) suffered haemophilia recurrence during pregnancy.

This study allows better definition of (1) clinical and laboratory characteristics of postpartum acquired haemophilia, (2) response to therapy, and (3) the risk of relapse for subsequent pregnancies.

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was declared in January 2020 as a public health emergency of international concern. The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) suffered from several pandemics previously. Pharmacists have vital roles to play to prevent the spread of this virus.

To assess the COVID-19 awareness amongst pharmacists from Arabic-speaking countries located in the MENA region, and to assess their perspectives of their role, barriers, and roles of the educational institutions/pharmaceutical associations.

An online survey was conducted to run a descriptive cross-sectional study in Jordan from 12th to 22nd April 2020. The questionnaire was validated (face validity) and put on Facebook and directed for pharmacists only (clarified in the introduction of the questionnaire). Assessment of pharmacists' awareness (20 questions) about pandemics and COVID-19, their perceived roles and barriers, and roles of the educational institutions (eg, universities) and pharmaceutical associations (eg, Pharmacists SyVID-19 were identified.
Pharmacists from the MENA countries believe they got enough education previously about pandemics, and the majority follow the latest coronavirus updates from social media. Fear was reported as the major barrier that requires resolution by the policymakers. Certain gaps in the awareness about COVID-19 were identified.Staphylococcus aureus is a major opportunistic human pathogen that is globally prevalent. Although S. aureus and humans may have co-evolved to the point of commensalism, the bacterium is equipped with virulence factors causing devastating infections. The adoption of an intracellular lifestyle by S. aureus is an important facet of its pathogenesis. Occupying a privileged intracellular compartment permits evasion from the bactericidal actions of host immunity and antibiotics. However, this localization exposes S. aureus to cell-intrinsic processes comprising autophagy, metabolic challenges and clearance mechanisms orchestrated by host programmed cell death pathways (PCDs), including apoptosis, pyroptosis and necroptosis. Mounting evidence suggests that S. aureus deploys pathoadaptive mechanisms that modulate the expression of its virulence factors to prevent elimination through PCD pathways. In this review, we critically analyse the current literature on the interplay between S. aureus virulence factors with the key, intertwined nodes of PCD. We discuss how S. aureus adaptation to the human host plays an essential role in the evasion of PCD, and we consider future directions to study S. aureus-PCD interactions.
To explore the long-term joint outcomes of low-dose prophylaxis in Chinese children with severe haemophilia A and to analyse their related factors.

We retrospectively analysed follow-up data from 21 severe haemophilia A children on regular low-dose prophylaxis for 6-10years. We used International Prophylaxis Study Group magnetic resonance imaging score (IPSG MRI score), Hemophilia Joint Health Score (HJHS), number of target joints, and Hemophilia-Specific Quality of Life Index (Haemo-QoL) to evaluate joint outcomes. Factors associated with these outcomes were evaluated by statistical analysis.

(1) The children were 1.75 to 17years age at prophylaxis initiation. Median prophylactic factor VIII dose was 22.9IU/kg per week. (2) At the end of follow-up (a) The total IPSG MRI scores were 2-24 with 90.5% children exhibiting moderate to severe joint involvement (score 7-24); (b) The HJHS ranged 2-27, with 0-10 for 46.7% children and >10 for 53.3% children. There was a positive correlation between the MRI score and HJHS (p<.05); (c) Compared to their on-demand treatment period before prophylaxis, target joints numbers decreased, and no child needed auxiliary devices to walk; (d) Joint outcomes were positively correlated with the age at initiation of low-dose prophylaxis (p<.05) and negatively correlated with the treatment dose.

Long-term low-dose prophylaxis had positive effect on joint outcomes compared with on-demand treatment. However, a certain degree of joint damage remained in all children indicating the need for improving the current strategy of low-dose prophylaxis.

Information on large groups of patients with acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans (ACA) is limited.

We assessed clinical and microbiological characteristics of patients with ACA diagnosed at a single medical centre and compared findings in periods 1991-2004 vs. 2005-2018. The cohort is representative of Slovenian ACA patients.

We assessed 693 patients 461 females and 232 males, with median age of 64years. Median duration of ACA before diagnosis was 12months. In all but 2 patients, the skin lesions were located on extremities, more often on the lower (70.0%) than the upper (45.2%), bilaterally in 42.4%. Reddish-blue discoloration, swelling, thinning and wrinkling of skin were present in 95.2%, 28.1%, 46.4% and 20.5% of patients, respectively. Overall, 64.4% of patients reported constitutional symptoms, 23.1% had local symptoms, and 20.8% had symptoms/signs of peripheral neuropathy. Nodules, arthritis, joint deformity, muscle atrophy and paresis were rare (<3%). Borreliae were isolated from 200/664 (30.1%) skin samples; 92.8% were Borrelia afzelii. B. garinii and B. burgdorferi s.s. were more often isolated from the skin of male patients (OR=4.17) and from those with arthropathy (OR=11.74). Patients included in the more recent period were older, complained less often of constitutional symptoms but more often of local symptoms, and more often had local swelling but less often skin atrophy and bilateral involvement, probably as a consequence of earlier diagnosis.

ACA, typically caused by B. afzelii, usually affects older women. Clinical presentation depends on the duration of illness and probably on the Borrelia species causing the disease.
