Conclusive data regarding the positive influence of decent work on overall well-being and lasting career development remains incomplete, constrained by the lack of thorough systematic reviews. This research endeavors to (a) examine the correlations between decent work and individual well-being, considering their potential to maintain career development, and (b) investigate the disparities in these correlations across various subgroups.
The archived literature databases from before March 4, 2022, were searched. To examine the associations between decent work, wellbeing, and career capabilities, a combined Pearson correlation coefficient (r) was calculated using the 46 studies that met the pre-defined criteria. Within this group, 30 studies (encompassing 16,026 participants) specifically examined the connection between decent work and wellbeing, and 26 studies (featuring 12,384 participants) investigated the link between decent work and career capabilities.
