A computed tomography scan was performed on January 26, and showed ground-glass nodules scattered along the two lungs, suggestive of viral pneumonia. Given the clinical characteristics, epidemiological history, and examination, the patient was diagnosed with coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19). CONCLUSION Our patient had atypical symptoms of COVID-19. All rights reserved.BACKGROUND Lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (LELC) is a non-keratinizing carcinoma with rich lymphocytic infiltration, which primarily originates from the nasopharynx. Primary lung LELC is a type of lung cancer with a relatively low incidence. Herein, we report a rare case of lung LELC with expression of CD56. We also performed a literature review to summarize the epidemiological, clinical, and prognostic features of this disease. CASE SUMMARY A 51-year-old man was admitted to Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College due to cough and chest pain lasting > 2 mo and 1 wk, respectively. Positron emission tomography-computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging examinations revealed the presence of a mass in the right upper lobe with enlargement of lymph nodes and multiple bone metastases. According to the results of bronchoscopy and cervical lymph node biopsy, a diagnosis of lung LELC with CD56-positive staining (CD56+ lung LELC) was made. In the literature, 458 cases of lung LELC have been reported. However, only one other case of CD56+ lung LELC has been reported thus far. All rights reserved.BACKGROUND Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) harboring 11q23 translocations is classified as therapy-related AML in patients who have undergone prior treatment with cytotoxic agents. selleck There have been only a few reports of AML that subsequently developed during imatinib mesylate (IM) treatment for gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). CASE SUMMARY A 63-year-old woman was diagnosed with a hepatic GIST recurrence in April 2012; she was administered IM 400 mg/d. In November 2015, she developed dyspnea with pancytopenia while IM treatment was continued for 42 mo. A chromosome study using a bone marrow sample showed a 46, XX karyotype with t(11;19)(q23;p13.1) in 22 of 26 analyzed metaphase cells. Fluorescence in situ hybridization using the locus-specific indicator (11q23) gene break-apart probe showed positive rearrangement in 82% of interphase cells. Reverse-transcription polymerase chain reactions subsequently confirmed the KMT2A/ELL transcript. She achieved complete response with incomplete neutrophil recovery with two decitabine treatment cycles. After the third cycle of decitabine, the disease relapsed, and she refused further treatment. She died of hemorrhagic stroke 5 mo after diagnosis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of AML with KMT2A gene rearrangements in a patient with a GIST receiving IM treatment. CONCLUSION Physicians should consider the potential risks of developing hematologic malignancies, including therapy-related AML, in patients with GISTs receiving IM treatment. ©The Author(s) 2020. All rights reserved.BACKGROUND Pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma (PACC) is a rare type of malignant pancreatic cancer that represents approximately 1% of all pancreatic neoplasms. Due to its very low incidence, only a few retrospective studies are available. Although surgery is the first choice for treatment, most patients experience recurrence (mainly in the liver) and there are no clear recommendations for patients with advanced disease. CASE SUMMARY We report two patients with PACC treated with surgery who experienced tumour recurrence in the liver. Patient 1 carried a germline mutation in the APC gene. Both patients were treated with gemcitabine plus oxaliplatin and gemcitabine plus capecitabine as first- and second-line therapies, respectively. After a favourable response to chemotherapy, the patients underwent radiofrequency ablation of the remaining liver metastases. For patient 1, we documented a relapse in the liver after a disease-free period of 9 mo, and treatment with gemcitabine plus capecitabine was restarted. The patient achieved a complete response, and he remains alive without evidence of disease recurrence after six years. After radiofrequency ablation, patient 2 experienced disease-free survival for 21 mo, when peritoneal relapse was diagnosed and treated with chemotherapy. The patient achieved a stable disease state for nearly two years; nevertheless, further progressive disease was documented, and he died seven years after the first relapse. CONCLUSION PACC presents different biological behaviours than pancreatic adenocarcinoma. However, the association between depression and myocardial injury on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has still not been assessed. AIM To assess the association between depression and myocardial injury on CMR in patients with STEMI. METHODS A total of 107 STEMI patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (P-PCI) were analyzed in this prospectivecohort study. Each subject completed the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) to assess the presence and severity of depressive symptoms. CMR was performed at a median of 3 d after P-PCI for quantifying post-MI myocardial injury. Correlations between depression identified by the PHQ-9 and myocardial injury measured on CMR were assessed. RESULTS In this study, 19 patients (17.8%) were diagnosed with major depression identified by the PHQ-9 ≥ 10. PHQ-9 was analyzed both as a continuous variable and dichotomous variable.
