NOTES AND REFERENCES/SUMMARIES
Season 1, Episode 7 - Pacifica is introduced shortly after the introduction of Mabel's new friends, Candy and Grenda. She is introduced when Soos is announcing a 'party crown' prize for whoever parties hardest based on applause, although this will result in a karaoke battle. Pacifica walks up to the table with her two friends, demanding, and fully expecting, Soos to just hand her the crown. It's mentioned she's the most popular girl in town by Candy after Mabel asks who she is, immediately followed by Grenda saying 'I always feel bad about myself around her'. When Soos turns her down, saying it's a competition, her spoiled, mean girl current personality is shown; she replies; "Honestly, who's going to compete against ME?" followed by her referring to Candy and Grenda as "Fork Girl" and "Lizard Lady" respectively. She then laughs, followed by her friends doing the same. This very much visibly upsets Candy and Grenda, but Mabel stands up for them, saying she will compete against Pacifica for the party crown, to the joy of her newfound friends. She introduces herself to Pacifica, who immediately replies harshly, the first thing said being; "That sounds like a fat old lady's name." Mabel reacts positively though, saying she'll take that as a compliment. Pacifica states, "May the better partier win." Before snapping her fingers and moving back into the crowd with her friends, not breaking eye contact with Mabel. Mabel, again, takes no offense, calling after Pacifica that it was nice meeting her. Although, still with a big smile, she immediately says, "She's going down." Much later in the episode, returning to the Pacifica/Mabel subplot, the scene cuts to Pacifica singing for the competition, where she sings such a high note that it does break someone's cup. She gets plenty of cheer from the crowd. When it's Mabel's turn, Pacifica pushes the mic against her, saying "Try and top THAT." She follows this with; "Oh, and Grenda? By the way, you sound like a professional wrestler.", presumably targeting the fact Grenda had shown insecurity about her voice shortly before, while Pacifica was on stage. She walks away laughing. Mabel still has confidence though, bringing her friends back up and asking Soos for the "80s-est, crowd-pleasingest, rock-balladiest song you got!", and to that he plays 'Don't start unbelieving' which is a parody of the 80s song 'Don't stop believin'' by Journey. She gets noticeably more cheer than Pacifica. Much to the dismay of Pacifica herself. In a later section, Pacifica is shown walking out of the bathroom at the party with a very angry expression on her face. Later, it's almost time for the applause competition to see who wins the party crown. Mabel says, "I just wanna say that whoever wins, it's been a super fun party.", extending her hand to Pacifica. Pacifica harshly replies with, "Aww. It thinks it's gonna win." Followed by, "Hey, did you hear that?", putting her hand to her ear, which prompts Mabel to do the same. Then she continues; "People clapping for the weird girls? Yah, me neither." Which makes Mabel slightly sad. Come time for the applause voting, Mabel gets a lot of applause, to the annoyance of Pacifica. Pacifica gets some applause, but not much, especially compared to Mabel. She looks at the crowd with anger, prompting many of them to seem afraid in some way and applaud for her, perhaps showing her place and reputation and personality. It ends in a tie, but Pacifica will not let that happen. She approaches Old Man McGucket, the crazy old resident who lives in the dump, and hands him a cash bill to make him clap for her. To the visible disappointment of Soos, this means Pacifica wins. Mabel seems sad as well about this. Obviously, Pacifica doesn't care. She happily takes the crown and thanks everybody, promptly inviting everyone to the afterparty on her parents' boat, gaining more cheers from the crowd. She is crowd carried away as they chant her name. Mabel's friends decide to have a sleepover and dance party rather than being sad.

Season 1, Episode 8 - This episode focuses on a part of Pacifica's family history, despite having not much feature of Pacifica herself. The town is having their annual "Pioneer Day" which is a day where they act as if it is 1863, when the town was first founded. Pacifica first appears on screen when Sheriff Blubs is gathering everyone to the stage, accompanied by Deputy Durland. Shortly after, she introduces herself, and states that she is the great-great-granddaughter of town founder Nathaniel Northwest, adding that she's also very rich. She then invites anyone with the "pioneer spirit" to come up on stage and introduce themselves. Mabel, who is at the front with Dipper, gets excited at the audience participation opportunity. Dipper interjects with "I don't know Mabel.. Isn't that girl kind of like your arch enemy?" to which Mabel replies, "That's water under the bridge!" and happily goes up on stage to introduce herself. Pacifica is visibly annoyed to see her, saying her name as if it's a curse. Mabel is unbothered, cheering "Yeah!! Let's get this pioneer day started!" Before making a silly face and continuing with "Right guys?" and chanting USA, which gains incredible response with the crowd joining the chant. Pacifica looks at her and speaks again; "I'm sorry to break it to you, but pioneer day is for serious people, and you look and act ridiculous. I mean, a puppy playing basketball?" This is referring to Mabel's sweater; note she also has nacho earrings. Pacifica continues talking; "Are you always this silly?" This makes Mabel visibly upset, making an effort to hide the design on her sweater and showing a visibly sad expression. She puts on a smile despite still clearly being sad, replying with "Hey, I can be serious..!" Followed by her attempt at a serious face. Pacifica replies, "You DO have nachos hanging from your ears, hon." Mabel blushes of embarrassment, and Pacifica goes on, "Wow, I'm embarrassed for you..." Before calling out; "Give her a hand everybody!" followed by applause from the crowd. Mabel looks as if she's about to cry, before looking down and walking off the stage, Pacifica calling out "Now who wants to hear more about ME?" with continued applause from the crowd. Dipper runs to comfort Mabel, therein going off screen. Cut to a Northwest family photo being taken, all of them saying "Northwest!" as it is taken, followed by Pacifica laughing and saying "We're perfect." Dipper asks Mabel if she is okay, and they have a conversation, leaving the area. Grunkle Stan is driving away and asks his mechanic to help, however his mechanic is acting old timey and will not help him. He gets aggressive and grabs the man by his shirt, shaking him. Then the sheriff and deputy show up. Stan makes a joke; "Oh, look, the- CONSTABLE, what are you gonna do, throw me in 'ye stocks'?" followed by him laughing. The next scene is him actually in stocks, to his annoyance. Things happen irrelevant to the Northwest storyline, and the scene then cuts to Dipper and Mabel. The two have found a page in the journal that could severely tarnish the reputation of Pacifica's family, because it could prove her whole family is a fraud. Dipper decides to investigate, and Mabel decides to come with, wanting to prove she can be serious. They run off to investigate, but the Sheriff overheard and reports to his higher ups, who are shocked, before following them along with Deputy Durland. Soon, there is a scene where the twins mention their individual motives for doing this. Dipper wants to put Pacifica in her place, while Mabel wants to prove she's serious. Mabel's silliness helps though, as her making the page into a hat revealed it to be a map, helping them. Dipper's plan had just been to set the paper on fire. They hear the sheriff and deputy though so they move along. This plotline continues, with Mabel's silly nature oftentimes actually helping. The next scene with Pacifica features Stan attempting to lockpick himself out, but dropping the pin. Pacifica shows up, picking up the pin. She says; "Well, if it isn't Mabel's uncle, Mr Pines. Looking for this?" She asks, holding up the dropped pin. Stan replies, "Yeah, yeah. What do you want? Money?" to which Pacifica answers, "I want you to say that the Northwest family is the best family in Gravity Falls." Stan simply answers, "Oh sure, you want that in writing?" To which Pacifica holds up a notepad and places a pen in Stan's mouth. But rather than writing what he said he would, he scrawls out, with his mouth, 'YOU STINK!" which surprises and annoys Pacifica. He celebrates doing that with his mouth, but then Pacifica whistles at a group of people at the tomato crate, signalling them to throw said tomatoes at Stan, much to his annoyance. Back to the plot of the twins, they discover a secret passageway, again due to Mabel's silly habit. Dipper warns to look out for booby traps, and Mabel laughs at the wording.
