มูลนิธิเป็นหน่วยงานที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในการสร้างสังคมที่ดีขึ้น โดยการกระตุ้นและสนับสนุนกิจกรรมที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อสังคมและมนุษยชาติทั้งหมด มูลนิธิมักจะมีพันธกิจที่ชัดเจนในการสร้างความเข้มแข็งและอยู่รอดของมนุษยชาติโดยไม่กำหนดรูปแบบหรือสีผิวใดๆ
การดำเนินงานของมูลนิธิส่วนใหญ่จะมุ่งเน้นในด้านการช่วยเหลือผู้จำเป็น การส่งเสริมการศึกษา การเสริมสร้างทักษะที่จำเป็นในการทำงาน หรือการสนับสนุนโครงการด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม เป็นต้น ยกตัวอย่างเช่น มูลนิธิเด็กกู้ภัย ที่มุ่งเน้นในการช่วยเหลือเด็กที่อยู่ในสถานการณ์อันตรายและมากลำบาก หรือมูลนิธิสิ่งแวดล้อมที่สนับสนุนโครงการปลูกต้นไม้เพื่อลดการเปลืองทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ
อย่างไรก็ตาม มูลนิธิไม่ได้มีเพียงแค่การให้ความช่วยเหลือเท่านั้น แต่ยังมีบทบาทในการสร้างการเข้าใจและการตระหนักรู้ในสังคม เช่นการสนับสนุนโครงการการศึกษาเพื่อเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจในเรื่องสิทธิมนุษยชาติ หรือการสร้างโครงสร้างที่สามารถสร้างโอกาสให้กับคนที่มีความสามารถ

ดังนั้น มูลนิธิมีบทบาทสำคัญในการสร้างสังคมที่ดีขึ้น และสามารถกระตุ้นความคิดใหม่ๆ ให้กับสังคมในการดำเนินงานที่เป็นประโยชน์แก่มนุษยชาติทั้งหมด
