Problematic internet use has been identified in the last decade as a rising problem due to growing availability and impact of Internet use through social media, mobiles, and laptops are now a must in life, adolescents are most vulnerable for the misuse and its impacts.
To assess the prevalence of problematic internet use, Facebook, and gaming addiction among Egyptian adolescents and its impact.
The study assessed 700 adolescents aged from 14 to 18 years, both sexes, using Young internet addiction test, Internet gaming disorder scale, the Bergen Facebook addiction scale, the MINI international neuropsychiatry interview for children and adolescents and the socioeconomic status scale.
A total of 584 students continued the study to the end with response rate more than 75%, the mean age was 16.1 = 1.2, 65.6% were having internet addiction, 61.3% were gaming addicts, and 92.8% Facebook addicts. Depression, dysthymia, suicide, social anxiety panic, and phobias were common comorbidities in addicted adolescents.
This study shows that a significant percentage of adolescents are having different patterns of problematic internet use which is negatively impacting their mental health.

The implementation of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) into the standard care of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has improved prognosis for this group of patients. However, long-term survival is rare. The aim of the study was to identify predictors of response and, especially, to investigate the impact radiotherapy might have on duration of response.
The association between pretreatment patient/tumor characteristics and progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and lung cancer-specific survival was investigated in 78 patients receiving an ICI as ≥2nd line treatment for advanced NSCLC, using Cox regression analysis. Due to competing risk, cause-specific deaths were also examined with cumulative incidence plots.
Median OS was 12.6 months (95% CI 7.8-18.2) and median PFS 4.1 months (95% CI 3.0-6.2), after median follow-up time of 49.7 months (range 20.9-51.5). Increasing CRP and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), were associated with poor PFS (CRP HR 1.49, 95% CI 1.12-1.98; NLR e indicators of systemic inflammation can help in identifying patients with poor short-term prognosis.Purpose To explore the relationship of intelligibility, receptive language, executive functioning, and motor skills to nonverbal cognitive skills among children with cerebral palsy (CP) in different speech-language profile groups. Method Twenty-seven children with CP aged 10-12 years old participated in the study. They completed a battery of standard clinical assessments. The relationship of various skillsets with nonverbal cognitive ability was explored using correlational procedures. Additionally, we examined pairwise differences in nonverbal cognitive skills among profile groups. Cohen's Kappa and Chi-square tests were used to study the consistency of receptive language and nonverbal cognitive performance. Selleckchem UC2288 Results Children who showed better nonverbal cognitive abilities demonstrated better motor, receptive language, and intelligibility skills. Nonverbal cognition was generally consistent with receptive language. Conclusion Nonverbal cognitive impairment often co-occurs with language and speech motor impairment among children with CP. Speech-language profile groups are a useful framework for describing both communication and cognitive abilities.
Religious and spiritual coping strategies is one of the possible tools that can be used to deal with stress and the negative consequences of life problems and illnesses. The study aims to assess religious coping in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was an online survey. The sample was collected using a snowball sampling technique as the data were collected through Google forms. The survey started on 22 April 2020 and was closed on 28 May 2020. The participants were from two countries, India and Nigeria. The inclusion criteria were age between 18 and 60 years, having completed at least 10 years of formal education, and have internet access. For data collection, Semi-structured proforma (demographic and personal characteristics) and Brief RCOPE was used to see the extent to which individuals engage in positive and negative forms of religious coping.
A total of 647 individuals (360 from Nigeria and 287 from India) participated in the survey. A total of 188 (65.5%) participants in India reported no chanus coping. There is a substantial cross-national difference between Indians and Nigerians in the religious coping modes.Cessation of one component of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been associated with increased risk of ischemic events but it is uncertain whether discontinuation of aspirin is preferable to discontinuation of the oral P2Y12 inhibitor. The GLOBAL LEADERS study compared two antiplatelet strategies following PCI, cessation of aspirin at 1 month with continued ticagrelor monotherapy for 23 months versus standard DAPT for 12 months followed by aspirin monotherapy for a further 12 months. We assessed recovery of platelet reactivity after withdrawal of either aspirin or ticagrelor at 1 month and 12 months, respectively, in this study. Platelet aggregation (PA) was assessed before cessation of DAPT ('baseline') and after 2, 7, and 14 days post-cessation using Multiplate whole-blood aggregometry with collagen, thrombin-receptor-activating peptide (TRAP), adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and arachidonic acid (AA) as agonists. Following cessation of aspirin at 1 month, there was marked recovery of PA induced by AA (baseline [mean ± SD] 11.1 ± 7.4 U vs. 14 days 64.9 ± 19.6 U, p less then .0001) and collagen (37.4 ± 22.9 U vs. 79.8 ± 13.8 U, p less then .0001), whereas PA induced by ADP (18.6 ± 6.6 vs. 69.1 ± 20.5, p less then .0001) and collagen (34.4 ± 18.7 U vs. 43.0 ± 21.0, p = .0018) recovered following cessation of ticagrelor at 12 months. There were no significant changes in TRAP-induced PA in either group. In conclusion, cessation of either component of DAPT leads to substantial increase in platelet reactivity with differential effects on different pathways of platelet activation when aspirin or the P2Y12 inhibitor is stopped. Further work is required to determine which patients receive net benefit from long-term continuation of DAPT.
