There is a paucity of research evidence available regarding the impact of anxiety and sleep hygiene on insomnia and related sleep complaints among collegiate students in lower-income countries. The purpose of this study was to investigate if insomnia and insomnia-related sleep complaints are associated with anxiety, age, and sleep hygiene practices among a sample of university students in Ethiopia.

The participants were young adults (n=525; mean age 21.5 ± 3.0 years; mean BMI of 20.7 ± 2.7kg/m
). Young collegiate adults at Mizan-Tepi University in southwestern Ethiopia were randomly selected to participate in this cross-sectional study. The measures included the Leeds Sleep Evaluation Questionnaire-Mizan (LSEQ-M), the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 Scale (GAD-7), and the Sleep Hygiene Index (SHI). Descriptive statistics, binary logistic regression, and multiple linear regressions were used.

Insomnia was associated with young age group (≤25 years) (odds ratio (OR) = 2.20, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.04-4.66), higher GAD-7 (anxiety) (OR = 1.05, 95% CI 1.0-1.10) and SHI (poor sleep hygiene) (OR = 1.15, 95% CI 1.05-1.26) scores. All four insomnia-related sleep complaints were associated with increasing GAD-7 scores, as well as higher SHI scores (p<0.001).

Insomnia was associated with younger age group (≤25 years), higher anxiety level, and poor sleep hygiene. Four major sleep complaints in insomnia, ie, sleep onset problems, poor sleep quality, awakening problems, and daytime disturbances, were all associated with higher anxiety levels and poor sleep hygiene.

Yellow fever (YF) is endemic in South Omo area of Ethiopia. Although Jinka University (JKU) is located in South Omo Zone, there is no information regarding the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice of students toward YF. The current study aimed to assess knowledge, attitude, and practice of JKU students toward YF and factors associated with the overall knowledge and attitude about the disease.

In this cross-sectional study, a semi-structured self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from randomly selected regular program JNU students. Data were analyzed using SPSS. Bivariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to investigate associations of socio-demographic factors with overall knowledge and attitude scores.

A total of 322 students (61.2% males, mean age of 20.7 years) participated in this study. Of these, 94.1% joined the University from places other than South Omo area and 86.0% (277/322) ever heard about YF. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/bms-986235.html 9.6% were found to have a high level of overal, calls for urgent awareness creation during admission and making vaccination available.
To analyse the quality control circle (QCC) implementation status, tool modification and promotion in hospitals in mainland China.

Data were collected from the 2013-2018 National Quality Control Circle Competition of Chinese Hospitals. A total of 1913 participating QCCs implemented by 34,023 hospitalstaff from 915 hospitals across 31 provinces and municipalities were included in this study to analyse the characteristics of QCC implementation status in mainland China, using descriptive analyses.

The majority of participating QCCs came from central and eastern hospitals. Most of the QCCs were carried out in tertiary hospitals and focused on themes of safety and patient care. The QCC has been modified in terms of its classification, implementation process, participation mechanism, and ways of dissemination. A series of promotion strategies have been made to promote the implementation of QCCs nationwide, including establishing a professional promotion organization, developing standardized training programmes, and organizing QCC academic events.

After years of promotion, QCCs are widely used in hospitals and have been modified to fit the practice of healthcare institutions. The QCC promotion strategies in China can offer valuable insights for other countries that are also making efforts to continuously improve care quality in healthcare institutions.

The incidence of cancer related to human papillomavirus (HPV) that affects males is rising throughout the world. Currently, Vietnamese boys are typically not vaccinated against HPV while girls are. There are only a few studies pertaining to HPV vaccination among boys in Asian countries where parents play the most important role in deciding on such vaccination. We present here the first study to assess the effectiveness of a health talk education program on HPV knowledge, attitudes and intention to vaccinate children among mothers of secondary school students in the Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam.

This was a quasi-experimental study. Two secondary schools in the Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam were selected by purposive sampling. A total of 288 mothers of male students of two secondary schools were selected to participate, n=144 as controls and n=144 for the intervention arm for every school. Mothers of male students were invited to answer interview questions. The questionnaires covered social demographics, health history, HPV knowledge and HPV vaccination perception and intention. The study ran from September 2019 to January 2020.

In total, 279 mothers finished the questionnaires. At the baseline, HPV knowledge in both groups was at the same level (p>0.05). One month after receiving the HPV health talk education, mothers of male students had much higher HPV knowledge than those who did not receive such HPV health talk education. The intervention group also had a much higher HPV vaccination intention than the control group (p<0.05).

Health education was shown in this study to be an effective method to increase HPV knowledge and vaccination intention among mothers of boys in Vietnam.
