3.0 BUSINESS MODELING


The system will operate on it's working site. Different authorized people may access the system on different locations on the site. It will be connected
via a network which is wireless or cable. The system will be password protected to prevent unauthorized use. The objective of the proposed system is to
minimize inconsistency on the inventory reports. It will notify the user if a certain input has error. It should also manage the "Margin of safety" in such
a way that it notifies the user if a certain



3.1 UNDERSTAND THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT


Currently, the manual type of system is being used in the company. For the inventory logs, they base it on individual reports made by whoever sends
and receives a material or data. individual reports are then collected and tallied, after then, data are organized by the use of Microsoft Excel and Access.




3.1.1 BACKGROUND AND PROBLEM DEFINITION



Tae Sung Phils. Co., Inc. has used manual logging of their inventory system for years.
It currently does not have a computerized system. But they use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
As the company grows, so does the number of clients they serve.
The company usually encounter issues on their inventory logs because the reports are done individually.
Their manual system is not updated real time which results to inconsistency of reports.

There is a need for a more effective process of recording data to produce an accurate level of tracking data.
To be more efficient on inventory reports, the company should take advantage of newer technology for it can
improve the managing of their inventory.






3.1.2 CURRENT TECHNICAL ISSUES



With the current manual system. Tallying the inventory reports does not always result into a balance.
Some materials appear to be missing because not all reports are updated by the other.

A network should be implemented into the system so that we can eliminate inconsistency on the reports.
Different users can have real-time updates on the current status of materials.




3.1.2 NEEDED INTERFACE TO OTHER SYSTEMS


The Company needs a system that can be accessed by multiple people on the working site. It will be connected
by a network and will be updated automatically when a certain modification is made to the inventory.
The system must also be user friendly for the users to easily adapt to the changes made.




3.1.3 EXISTING ARCHITECTURE AND SYSTEM CONSTRAINTS



With the current system being used, it is more often that errors are encountered due to the lack of inventory updates
whenever it is needed. Microsoft Access and Excel are used but the data does not travel through a network. This makes
the system less reliable and inaccurate. Upon using the system, inputing erroneous data will still be accepted, this results
into confusion on what really the entry is.
