Multiple studies have identified the prognostic relevance of extent of resection in the management of glioma. Different intraoperative technologies have emerged in recent years with unknown comparative efficacy in optimising extent of resection. One previous Cochrane Review provided low- to very low-certainty evidence in single trial analyses and synthesis of results was not possible. The role of intraoperative technology in maximising extent of resection remains uncertain. Due to the multiple complementary technologies available, this research question is amenable to a network meta-analysis methodological approach.
To establish the comparative effectiveness and risk profile of specific intraoperative imaging technologies using a network meta-analysis and to identify cost analyses and economic evaluations as part of a brief economic commentary.
We searched CENTRAL (2020, Issue 5), MEDLINE via Ovid to May week 2 2020, and Embase via Ovid to 2020 week 20. We performed backward searching of all identified urgery, is needed.Hyperbaric bupivacaine spinal anaesthesia remains the gold standard for elective caesarean section, but the resultant clinical effects can be unpredictable. Hyperbaric prilocaine induces shorter motor block but has not previously been studied in the obstetric spinal anaesthesia setting. We aimed to compare duration of motor block after spinal anaesthesia with prilocaine or bupivacaine during elective caesarean section. In this prospective randomised, double-blind study, women with uncomplicated pregnancy undergoing elective caesarean section were eligible for inclusion. Exclusion criteria included patients aged 175 cm; a desire to breastfeed; or a contra-indication to spinal anaesthesia. Patients were randomly allocated to two groups the prilocaine group underwent spinal anaesthesia with 60 mg intrathecal prilocaine; and the bupivacaine group received 12.5 mg intrathecal heavy bupivacaine. Pidnarulex price Both 2.5 µg sufentanil and 100 µg morphine were added to the local anaesthetic agent in both groups. The primary outcome was duration of motor block, which was assessed every 15 min after arriving in the post-anaesthetic care unit. Maternal haemodynamics, APGAR scores, pain scores, patient satisfaction and side-effects were recorded. Fifty patients were included, with 25 randomly allocated to each group. Median (IQR [range]) motor block duration was significantly shorter in the prilocaine group, 158 (125-188 [95-249]) vs. 220 (189-250 [89-302]) min, p less then 0.001. Median length of stay in the post-anaesthetic care unit was significantly shorter in the prilocaine group, 135 (120-180 [120-230]) vs. 180 (150-195 [120-240]) min, p = 0.009. There was no difference between groups for maternal intra-operative hypotension; APGAR score; umbilical cord blood pH; maternal postoperative pain; and patients' or obstetricians' satisfaction. We conclude that hyperbaric prilocaine induces a shorter and more reliable motor block than hyperbaric bupivacaine for women with uncomplicated pregnancy undergoing elective caesarean section.
This study's purpose was to determine theattitudes of students studying in various fields related to health services towards gender roles and intimate partner violence.
The descriptive studysample was composed of 441 volunteer students. The data were collected by the Intimate Partner Violence Attitude Scale-Revised (IPVAS-R) and Gender Roles Attitude Scale (GRAS).
The GRAS and IPVAS-R mean scores were 114.10 (18.00) and57.77 (4.45), respectively. A statistically significant negative relationship was found between the IPVAS-R and GRAS total mean score.
The participants with negative attitudes allowing the violence also had more traditional attitudes towards gender roles. It is important to train health professionals with attitudes that believe in gender equality and reject violence to improve the quality of health services.

We showed excellent adherence and satisfaction with our telehealth care (TC) approach for COPD. Here, the results of a consecutive randomized controlled trial are presented.
Patients were randomly assigned to TC or standard care (SC). During TC, patients answered six daily questions online, and focused on the early recognition of exacerbations, in addition to SC.
The mean increase in COPD assessment test (CAT) was 1.8 vs. 3.6 points/year in the TC and SC groups, respectively (P=0.0015). Satisfaction with care (VAS) at baseline was 8.2; at the end of SC, 8.5 (P=0.062); and after TC, 8.8 (P<0.001). We detected significantly more moderate exacerbations during TC.
Whilst receiving TC, the slope of the CAT increase - an indicator of the naturally progressive course of COPD - was reduced by 50%. Satisfaction with care increased with TC. The higher number of detected moderate exacerbations probably indicates a higher diagnostic sensitivity than without TC.

The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) 8th edition introduced distinct clinical and pathological staging paradigms for human papilloma virus positive (HPV+) oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC). Treatment planning for OPSCC often utilizes positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) to assess clinical stage. We hypothesize that PET/CT will accurately predict final pathologic AJCC 8th edition staging in patients with HPV+ OPSCC.
All patients with primary HPV+ OPSCC with preoperative PET/CT who underwent transoral robotic surgery and neck dissection between 2011 and 2017 were identified. Data were collected via chart review. Two neuroradiologists performed blinded re-evaluation of all scans. Primary tumor size and cervical nodal disease characteristics were recorded and TNM staging was extrapolated. Cohen's kappa statistic was used to assess interrater reliability. Test for symmetry was performed to analyze discordance between radiologic and pathologic staging.
Forty-nine patients met inclusion criteria.
