This study evaluated the impact of recombinant chicken gonadotropin-releasing hormone (rcGnRH) with metoclopramide on the release of sex steroids and final maturation induction in goldfish (Carassius auratus) broodstock. For this purpose, goldfish broodstock was divided into four groups and treated with 0.9% NaCl with 20 mg/kg metoclopramide (Met) (C); 10 μg/kg body weight (BW) rcGnRH with 20 mg/kg metoclopramide (rcGn10); 15 μg/kg BW rcGnRH with 20 mg/kg metoclopramide (rcGn15); and 20 μg/kg BW rcGnRH with 20 mg/kg metoclopramide (rcGn20). The capability of the rcGnRH for eliciting biological response was tested in vivo by evaluating the changes of 17β estradiol (E2), testosterone (T), and 17α, 20β-dihydroxy-4-pregnen-3-one (DHP) and the induced spawning. Blood samples were obtained at 0 h, 12 h, and 24 h after injection. The rcGn10, rcGn15, and rcGn20 treatments induced lower E2 concentration, especially 24 h post-injection. T levels were significantly higher in rcGn10, rcGn15, and rcGn20 treatments 12 h post-injection than at 0 h and then decreased at 24 h post-injection. Furthermore, the rcGnRH tested significantly enhanced DHP secretion in rcGn10, rcGn15, and rcGn20 treatments 12 h post-injection before a decline at 24 h post-injection. No significant difference between the sampling times was found in the C treatment for the 3 sex steroids tested. The results also displayed that rcGnRH at 10-20 µg/kg of body weight can trigger spawning with the highest speed and efficiency of spawning at 20 µg/kg. The obtained results represent a possible strategy for enhancing the artificial reproduction and ovulation of broodstock fish by rGnRH and further support the use of recombinant hormones to promote reproduction in aquaculture.Soil moisture, vegetation cover, and land surface temperature are vital variables in water-energy balance, eco-hydrological processes, and water resources management, which can be influenced by watershed management activities. The increased vegetation cover in the TW ed as practical solutions in the rehabilitation of exhausted watersheds in arid and semiarid environments.Cognitive models of social anxiety suggest that social anxiety disorder (SAD) is characterized by both enhanced emotional reactivity and deficits in emotion regulation. Emotional reactivity to socially threatening children's faces and their modulation through reappraisal were measured via subjective ratings and electrocortical responses in children (age 10-13) with SAD (n = 28), clinical controls with mixed anxiety disorders (n = 28), and healthy controls (n = 29). Children with SAD showed higher subjective reactivity to the images of angry children's faces while all children reported reduced reactivity in their subjective ratings following reappraisal. Reduced electrocortical reactivity after reappraisal was only evident in older children and boys and was unrelated to anxiety. The present study indicates that cognitive reappraisal may be beneficial in reducing subjective reactivity in children with anxiety disorders, while neural effects of reappraisal may emerge at older ages.
Necrotizing external otitis (NEO) is a serious complication of external otitis. NEO can be classified according to-anterior, medial, posterior, intracranial, and contralateral-extension patterns. Currently there is no consensus on the optimal imaging modality for the identification of disease extension. This study compares NEO extension patterns on MR and CT to evaluate diagnostic comparability.

Patients who received a CT and MR within a 3-month interval were retrospectively examined. Involvement of subsites and subsequent spreading patterns were assessed on both modalities by a radiologist in training and by a senior head and neck radiologist. The prevalence of extension patterns on CT and MR were calculated and compared.

All 21 included NEO cases showed an anterior extension pattern on CT and MR. Contrary to MR, medial extension was not recognized on CT in two out of six patients, and intracranial extension in five out of eight patients. The posterior extension pattern was not recognized on MR. Overall, single anterior extension pattern (62%) is more prevalent than multiple extension patterns (38%).

However, the medial and intracranial spreading patterns as seen on MR could only be identified on CT in a small number of patients. The posterior spreading pattern can be overlooked on MR. Thus, CT and MR are complimentary for the initial diagnosis and work-up of NEO as to correctly delineate disease extent through the skull base.
