Dalam liburannya ke Eropa, Quirrell menemukan Voldemort yang setengah-hidup, bersembunyi sejak kegagalannya membunuh Harry.
Quirrell tertarik dengan tawaran Voldemort akan 'kekuatan'. Kemudian ia kembali ke Inggris dengan membawa Voldemort.
Ada perbedaan antara sejarah (Versi buku) dengan apa yang beredar di muggle (Versi movie). Menurut sejarah, Quirell tidak memakai turban ketika bertemu Harry, tapi menurut muggle ia memakai turban.
Quirrell dapat berjabat tangan dengan Harry dan tidak memakai turban, berarti Voldemort belum merasukinya.
