Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Minimum Credentials

As stated in Florida Board of Governors Regulation 6.002 a First Time In College (FTIC) student may be admitted if he/she has a high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale as calculated by the university, and presents official SAT Reasoning Test and/or ACT Plus Writing scores. Beginning fall 2014, the student must include the Plus Writing section of the ACT if utilizing the ACT to meet this standard.

The SAT or ACT is required of all State University System FTIC applicants. Students with a high school GPA of 2.5-2.99 on a 4.00 scale as calculated by the university must obtain the following minimum scores in all three sections of either the SAT Reasoning Test or ACT.

Writing as outlined below:

SAT Critical Reading = 460 or ACT Reading = 19

SAT Mathematics = 460 or ACT Mathematics = 19

SAT Writing = 440 or ACT English/Writing = 18

Transfer applicants must have a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.0 as well as a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be in good standing as a degree-seeking student at the last institution attended to be considered for admission to Florida Poly. All college transfer applicants with fewer than 60 credit hours of acceptable credit must minimally meet freshman high school unit entrance requirements, the high school academic GPA, and minimum

Admission to the University is limited by space availability. The degree of competition for space depends on the number and qualifications of those who apply for admission. To increase the chance of admission, students should present credentials that are stronger than the minimum requirements for consideration as listed above. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number that the University is able to enroll, a waiting list will be established.

Official transcripts must be sent directly from the high school and/or college in a sealed envelope.
Note: Florida Poly grants college credit for Advanced Placement test scores.

3. Letter of Recommendation
All applicants are strongly recommended to submit a Letter of Recommendation from a guidance counselor or teacher.

4. Official SAT and/or ACT scores
All freshman applicants must submit official scores from SAT and/or ACT. Scores must be sent directly from the testing institution to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. SAT School: 7303; ACT School: 2869. Copies are considered unofficial documents. Note: If you submit more than one SAT score, we use the highest score from each section (critical reading and math) and combine them into a super score. Equally, we also use the highest composite ACT score.
