Amygdala merupakan komponen utama penghasil emosi. Otak kita memiliki dua amygdala yang ukurannya lebih besar dibandingkan dengan makhluk lain. Oleh sebab itu jika ada seseorang yang amygdala-nya diambil untuk alasan medis ataupun karena sebab lain, maka orang tersebut mengalami gangguan emosi dan bisa jadi tidak tertarik untuk berinteraksi dengan lain.
