SOKUON
Adalah tanda huruf TSU (つ) kecil yg diletakkan diantara dua huruf lainnya sbg tanda bunyi ganda dari bunyi huruf yang diikutinya.
Sbg contoh pertama:
こったつ : kottatsu (patah tulang)
こ : ko
った : tta
つ : tsu
contoh kedua:
1. ちょっかん
2. せっし
3. ぜったい
4. けっちゃく
5. しっぱい
Jika dijabarkan maka akan menjadi:
1. ちょ : Cho
っか : tsu kecil + ka = kka
ん : n
2. せ : Se
っし : tsu kecil + Shi = Sshi
3. ぜ : Ze
った : tsu kecil + ta = tta
い : i
4. け : Ke
っちゃ : tsu kecil + chi + yoon = ccha
く : ku
5. し : Shi
っぱ : tsu kecil + pa = ppa
い : i
Jika diperhatikan, penjabaran diatas ada kata 'Yoon'. Yoon disini bukan nama orang tapi tambahan huruf. Pada soal juga terdapat huruf ぜ dan ぱ. Huruf ini mendapatkan tambahan variasi yg berasal dari huruf aslinya.
Yoon dan sokuon bisa menjadi teman dekat tergantung pada kalimat/kata yg dimaksud. Keduanya dapat dipakai secara bersamaan atau terpisah.
Untuk ぜ dan ぱ menggunakan huruf yg dinamakan DAKUON dan HANDAKUON.
DAKUON (゛) → Teng teng
HANDAKUON (゜) →Maruteng
Tidak semua huruf diberi dua tambahan ini.
Untuk DAKUON (゛)
Huruf Ka ki ku ke ko, ta chi tsu te to, sa shi su se so, ha hi hu he ho diberi tengteng pada bagian atas.
Untuk HANDAKUON (゜)
Hanya huruf Ha hi fu he ho yang diberi maruteng (゜)
Huruf ち゛dan つ゛jarang dipakai di jepang. Mereka lebih sering menggunakan huruf じ dan ず .
