I had this same situation, fixed by syncing with itunes.
Dont worry, your music is safe as long as it shows at iTunes.
I assume it is the cause of running out of space left. the music library, which is of course backed up in your pc (according to apple's logic, I guess) is deleted so your have more free space....
wouldn't happen if apple had an option to delete cache files, those are taking up to 1Gb and are totally USELESS!!
(Ex. fb and instgrm pics and vids downloaded so next time you'll watch them you don't have to wait for it to download)
this is theoretically possible, and very easy to implement. done this 100000 times by myself with Jbken device back then, just entering the right folder with the explorer and delete it. (saves huge amount of storage)
for this reason... fu-- apple... huge waste... in my opinion iPhone is the best mobile device ever created but apple takes advantage of millions innocent customers to keep upgrading ios in hope to fix "bugs" made purposely... by that the company gains lots of money, behind the scenes make it harder to jb device.
long story short, delete some apps and free space, manually back up ALL your files and don't trust any apple service.
