Penetrating eye trauma with an intraocular foreign body is very frequent, especially in men in their productive age. Pars plana vitrectomy would be the standard surgical method at our department. However, in indicated cases (metallic intraocular bodies in the posterior eye segment in young patients with well transparent ocular media without detached ZSM and without any evident vitreoretinal traction) transscleral extraction of the intraocular foreign body is performed using the exo magnet, eventually endo magnet with aminimal PPV without PVD induction under the visual control of endo-illumination.
Between June 2003 and June 2018, 66 eyes of 66 patients diagnosed with apenetrating eye trauma caused by an intraocular foreign body located in the posterior eye segment were treated. In 18 eyes (27,3 %) with ametallic foreign body in vitreous (body) or in retina, no PPV or aminimal PPV without PVD was used as asurgical method. In the remaining 48 eyes (72,7 %), astandard 20G, respectively 23G PPV method were us as well as reduce the risk of further surgical interventions of the afflicted eye.
To inform about possible use of the automatic retinal oximetry for the retinal oxygen saturation measurement in the eye and systemic diseases.
We performed aliterature review dealing with issues of retinal oxygen saturation monitoring by dual non-invasive retinal oximetry Oxymap T1 (Oxymap ehf. Reykjavík, Iceland).
We have found two main strains writing our paper on retinal oxygen saturation eye diseases. The first section concerns diseases created by having hypoxia as its main pathological factor - for example diabetes mellitus and retinal vein occlusion. The second group deals with atrophy as the main pathological mechanism which is typical for decreasing retinal oxygen consumption - for example glaucoma or retinitis pigmentosa (the second one named is not included in our work). Oximetry in systemic diseases creates arelatively new chapter of this branch with avery big potential of interdisciplinary cooperation for the future. It is possible the cooperation will not only include diabetologists but alsoma) but also in developing interdisciplinary cooperation with diabetologists, neurologists and haematologists. The composite electron transporting layer (ETL) of metal oxide with [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) prevents perovskite from metal electrode erosion and increases p-i-n perovskite solar cell (PVSC) stability. Although the oxide exhibits protective function, an additional work function modifier is still needed for good device performance. Usually, complicated multistep synthesis is employed to have a highly crystalline film that increases manufacturing cost and inhibits scalability. We report a facile synthesis of a novel organic-molecule-capped metal oxide nanoparticle film for the composite ETL. The nanoparticle film not only has a dual function of electron transport and protection but also exhibits work function tunability. Solvothermal-prepared SnO2 nanoparticles are capped with tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBAOH) through ligand exchange. The resulting TBAOH-SnO2 nanoparticles disperse well in ethanol and form a uniform film on PCBM. The power conversion efficiency of the device dramatically increases from 14.91 to 18.77% using this layer because of reduced charge accumulation and aligned band structure. The PVSC thermal stability is significantly enhanced by adopting this layer, which prevents migration of I- and Ag. The ligand exchange method extends to other metal oxides, such as TiO2, ITO, and CeO2, demonstrating its broad applicability. These results provide a cornerstone for large-scale manufacture of high-performance and stable PVSCs.Genomic profiling is a suitable tool for variety authentication and has applications in both operational quality and regulatory raw material control. It can be used to differentiate species or varieties and to identify admixtures as well as field contaminants. To establish a molecular profile, reliable and very accurate sequence data are required. As a result of the influence of the pollinator plant, nuclear genome-based authentication is in most cases not suitable for a direct application on the fruit. Sequences must be used that come exclusively from the localized mother plant. Parts of the fruit of maternal origin, e.g., components derived from the blossom, are suitable as a basis for this. Alternatively, DNA from cell organelles that are maternally inherited, such as mitochondria or chloroplasts, can be used. The latter will be discussed in this review in closer detail. Although individual gene segments on the chloroplast genome are already used for species differentiation in barcoding studies on plants, little is known about the usefulness of the entire chloroplast genome for intraspecies differentiation in general and for differentiation between modern varieties in particular. Results from the literature as well as from our own work suggest that chloroplast genome sequences are indeed very well-suited for the differentiation of old varieties. On the other hand, they are less or not suitable for the genetic differentiation of modern cultivars, because they are often too closely related. The marriage between a Li metal anode and the solid-state electrolyte is expected to limit the safety risk of secondary batteries. However, dendrites and interfacial stability hinder the combination of Li metal anode and solid-state electrolyte. Herein, a plastic crystal electrolyte (PCE) and three-dimensional (3D) host structure played the role of a matchmaker in combining the solid-state electrolyte and Li metal anode. Succinonitrile cooperated with Li salt and Li6.4La3Zr1.4Ta0.6O12 nanosize powder and built a PCE interphase, which enhanced the interfacial stability between Li1.5Al0.5Ge1.5(PO4)3 and Li metal anode. To protect the soft PCE from the dendrite penetration, commercially sold Super P, carbon nanotube, KS6, and Ketjen black were co-heated with the melted Li metal. learn more However, only KS6 built a 3D host in Li metal successfully because of its high graphitization and layered structure. Benefitting from the matchmakers, the solid-state batteries exhibited enhanced cycling stability.
