The cobas® Liat® and cepheid® GeneXpert® systems are two rapid real-time RT-PCR platforms offering rapid, specimen-to-answer detection of SARS-CoV-2.Research design and methods In this study, we compared the performance of these two systems on SARS-CoV-2 detection in 9 nasopharyngeal swab (NPS) and 70 posterior oropharyngeal saliva specimens collected from 79 patients suspected of SARS-CoV-2 infection between August 2020 and March 2021.Results The Positive Percent Agreement (PPA), Negative Percent Agreement (NPA) and overall Percent Agreement (OPA) between cepheid® Xpress SARS-CoV-2 assay and cobas® Liat® SARS-CoV-2 & Influenza A/B assay were found to be 100%. We demonstrated an excellent overall test concordance of the Liat® SARS-CoV-2 & Influenza A/B assay and Xpress SARS-CoV-2 assay. The small sample size of SARS-CoV-2 positive and weak-positive specimens is the inherent limitation of this study.Conclusions The performance of the cobas® Liat® SARS-CoV-2 & Influenza A/B assay is equivalent to the cepheid® Xpress SARS-CoV-2 assay for SARS-CoV-2 detection using NPS and posterior oropharyngeal saliva.The rhizosheath is an important drought-adaptive trait in roots of many angiosperms and has been regarded as a potential trait for future agricultural sustainability. In recent studies, we found that rice roots could form a pronounced rhizosheath under moderate soil drying (MSD) but not under continuous flooding irrigation (CF). These data expand our understanding of rhizosheath-associated microbes and plant interactions.Little is known about Canadian dietitians' perceptions and experiences of interprofessional collaboration. To address this knowledge gap, a cross-sectional online survey was administered to registered dietitians in Canada. Quantitative data was analyzed in SPSS using descriptive and inferential statistics, while thematic analysis was used for open-text responses. A total of N = 469 registered dietitians representing 10 provinces participated in the study. Results showed a significant difference (p less then .001) between the frequency with which dietitians collaborated with other health and social care providers and their desired frequency, with 61.0% indicating they wanted more frequent collaboration. A majority of dietitians (59.2%) had negative views of interprofessional interactions. Nearly all respondents felt there is a need to raise better awareness about the dietetic profession (95.4%) and that dietitians are underutilized in the world of healthcare (92.5%). On three measures, a majority of participants (ranging from 65.6% to 81.5%) reported that their dietetic training helped equip them for interprofessional collaboration. Insufficient time/availability was the obstacle to interprofessional collaboration cited most frequently by dietitians. Results suggest that interprofessional collaboration is an area in need of attention in the Canadian dietetic profession, as well as with health and social care providers who work with dietitians. The study's findings point to potential areas for improvement.Plant genomes encode numerous proteins with obscure features (POFs) that lack recognized domains or motifs. However, there is little functional information for POFs even in Arabidopsis because biochemical, physiological, and genetic assay are required for the functional annotations of POFs. Here, we identified a small gene family, the endoplasmic reticulum-localized POF (ERP) family, in Arabidopsis. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the number of ERP family members was conserved in the plant kingdom, suggesting strong selective pressure was imposed on ERP family during plant evolution. No recognizable domains were identified in the predicted ERP proteins, except for the N-terminal signal peptide. ERPs were found to be widely expressed during Arabidopsis development and showed endoplasmic reticulum localization. It was reported that ERP1 is an inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate 5-phosphatase (5PTase), but ERP1 could not substitute for At5PTase12 in precocious pollen germination, indicating that ERP1 did not have the similar functions as At5PTase12 in inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate [Ins(1,4,5)P3] metabolism. Further studies are needed to dissect the functions of ERP family proteins in Arabidopsis development.
Many very preterm infants are treated with phototherapy (PT) for hyperbilirubinemia and it has been reported that PT can negatively affect gut perfusion. Thus, our aim was to evaluate the occurrence of feeding intolerance in the course of PT in these patients.

We retrospectively studied infants born at 25
-31
weeks from November 2017 to April 2020 who required PT during the first two weeks of life. Patients were used as their own controls recording for each one the occurrence of feeding intolerance after starting PT and the resumption of feeding tolerance after its termination.

We studied 125 preterm infants of whom 58 (46%) developed a feeding intolerance which disappeared in 47 (81%) of them at the end of PT. Regression analysis showed a trend toward a not significant decrease of risk of feeding intolerance in infants with higher birth weight and age at the start of the first course of PT.

We found that about half of our patients developed a transient feeding intolerance during PT that ceased in the vast majority of them after termination of the therapy.
